À bientôt, Sacramento…
Now and then you visit places and realize that they have no vitality, no essence to speak of. Sacramento is one of those places. Pair with that the fact that I wouldn’t let this health system give me a haircut, and you can imagine how thrilled I am to be coming out here over the next few weeks.
The only plus is that all the frequent flyer miles cover our first-class flights to Italy. I meditate on that as I drift off to sleep on the redeye.
Miz Delphine, our bloodhound, turns one year old on Monday. She has become a natural tracker, and will gladly lead you along the trail of a fox or deer that has crossed the property. All dogs live through their noses to a great extent, but the bloodhound is often called a "nose with a dog attached" for good reason.
I recall Piatti in Fair Oaks is a nice restaurant..

I was never impressed with Sacramento – and even had a feeling of being unimpressed with it when I lived in Oregon, before moving to California for a spell. Strange how some cities just do that and have a feel of sorts.
