Quite the meal…

We’ve enjoyed many excellent meals at our Chaîne events, but a recent one was memorable in that the wine pairings were so perfectly matched with the excellent meal.

Our host chef is celebrating 20 years at his establishment – a rare achievement these days.  His wife is the wine importer, and obviously put a lot of effort into the matchings.  The guinea hen, venison and wood pigeon were my favorite dishes, carnivore that I am.

you had me at truffled chicken liver pate’ with quince jam…

On a menu like that, are you supposed to pick only one from each section, or do you get a sampler of everything listed. Did you have all three meats?

Sigh. I just found out that there’s a Chaine in my area, so I am exploring joining.

You have such a great taste for wine that I would love to ask you for some of your favorites but I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to afford them.

Yum.

I read some of your entries in Julia Child’s voice, in my head anyways. I really hope you don’t mind! Glad you enjoyed your meal. Take care,

I’m rather curious about the venison myself… Also, good to catch up on your writing/pictures from the last several months

Ryn: From what Ive gathered, there’s been a massive complaint by quite a few people saying that this judge overstepped his bounds and was just taking it out personally on her.. First off, he was Spanish, she says “Adios”..Id find that just a little rude..and then to flip him off.. Id say put her to work doing roadside cleanup for the 30 days in jail.. clean during the day, sleep at night.
