I’ve just heard something on the radio that I feel compelled to comment on. BBC2 Sunday half hour. The presenter mentions the passing away of his brother and the many letters of condolence he got. One of these said that God doesn’t take loved ones away without a reason, but that He does that to create a bigger space for God in your life. The presenter apparently was quite pleased with this letter, since he mentioned it on the radio. ‘What a lovely thought’ he said. I think it is a bit strange that God would take away the people you love so that there’s more room for God in your life. If that were a good reason than God had better take away everyone. It doesn’t make sense.
