Crazy Old Lady

I think I’ve solidified myself into the category of "crazy old lady".  Let’s recap.  Never been married.  Lives alone except for her cat.  Knits and crotchets in all her free time.  And this week – I’ve picked up tatting, which is making lace out of thread.  I love tatting, but my biggest problem is that 95% of tatting is to make doilies or lace hankies.  Who uses doilies anymore!?  My grandmother and mother both have lace runners on their dressers, but I haven’t seen ANYONE else who uses them under the age of 50.  So finding appropriate patterns can be challenging.  And if I’m not careful, I might one day find myself surrounded by millions of doilies and lace tablecloths!  But if this hasn’t yet convinced you that I’m that "crazy old lady" yet, listen to this.  The most exciting part of yesterday was finding buttons to use in my tatting.  The most exciting part of today was figuring out how to tat two colors!  My mind was blown when I realized how easy it was!

Yes.

Really.

I am the crazy old lady.

If that makes you crazy, then I’m crazy too.

Funny story… I found out that I’ve always been considered the mom. Who knew?

By the way, I would love some doilies. 🙂

Well good for you! Crazy has a purpose and in your case it is establishing a mastery which will be celebrated one day by those who’s brains died too early to do the same! Good for you! I would love to learn this.
