Oboe Conflicts

I think my oboe professor got me caught in the middle of something. I was put into the Orchestra and Wind Symphony, which meet at the same time. I started to freak, but I went to the director and talked to her about what the policy was about attendence. She told me that Orchestra took priority and if I wasn’t needed in there (I’m only playing a few pieces) that I should go to Wind Symphony. I was warned by the oboe students that the Orchestra conductor is a bastard, but to basically just ignore him. I also spoke with the Wind Symphony conductor, since I was first chair. I wanted to make sure he knew what was going on as well. He said he totally understood and asked that if I could let him know (as soon as I knew) when I’d be in Wind rehearsals.

So I understood the policy. Tiff went and spoke with Doc because she knew I had been put in this position. She was concerned with me having a run-in with the Orchestra Ass. It was sweet and everything, but Doc took it too far. And now it looks like after I was told the policy, I went to Doc and complained. I didn’t! I’m not happy about it, but its policy so I’ll deal with it.

Anyways, I don’t want to piss people off this early in the semester!
