plot it out in black and white

UPDATE: Yeah, I got into my college. This week has been so unbelievably hectic. Its Wednesday I think and I’m leaving on Saturday. Dorms open on Sunday and I get to unpack everything I’m packing up this week. Juice and Bubba are coming to help me carry the heavy boxes.

Boys? Ha. I ran into Paul last week with my mother. He was having dinner with his parents are Perkins and we ended up joining them. He got a job in the city and he’s been seeing this woman in Westchester for a few weeks. He didn’t seem to think it was going anywhere. I’m still not convinced anything would ever happen between us, but he has been a great friend. He’s coming to my birthday/going-away party this Friday. I swear I’m going to be partied out by this weekend. My parents took me out last week. DeDra took me out tonight. Tomorrow there is a party at church and then Friday is my final farewell. I’m excited and nervous and having problems sleeping. I’ve taken Seroquel a few nights now, but if I don’t take it earlier enough I’ll sleep the entire day, so I just have to be careful.

Ok, more packing to do….

“Welcome to the real world”, she said to me
Condescendingly
Take a seat
Take your life
Plot it out in black and white
Well I never lived the dreams of the prom kings
And the drama queens
I’d like to think the best of me
Is still hiding
Up my sleeve

They love to tell you
Stay inside the lines
But something’s better
On the other side

I wanna run through the halls of my high school
I wanna scream at the
Top of my lungs
I just found out there’s no such thing as the real world
Just a lie you’ve got to rise above

So the good boys and girls take the so called right track
Faded white hats
Grabbing credits
Maybe transfers
They read all the books but they can’t find the answers
And all of our parents
They’re getting older
I wonder if they’ve wished for anything better
While in their memories
Tiny tragedies

They love to tell you
Stay inside the lines
But something’s better
On the other side

I wanna run through the halls of my high school
I wanna scream at the
Top of my lungs
I just found out there’s no such thing as the real world
Just a lie you got to rise above

I am invincible
As long as I’m alive

I wanna run through the halls of my high school
I wanna scream at the
Top of my lungs
I just found out there’s no such thing as the real world
Just a lie you’ve got to rise above

I just can’t wait til my 10 year reunion
I’m gonna bust down the double doors
And when I stand on these tables before you
You will know what all this time was for

No Such Thing ~ John Mayer

Wow! Congratulations on getting in. And kudos on the party-festivities galore! Looks like we’re now in a race to see who will graduate from college first, with my 4.5 years behind me and all. 🙂 Way to go Kate, really that’s incredible. I can’t wait to see how you take over that college with your skills. Rock on Girl. :p
