Unsung Heros

So there is a new war in town
A new battle to be fought in a new place
The frontline is not measurable or drawable
It is imaginary like battles in movies
The battle line is in the mind
A line between a safe peace and a fearful terror
The enemy is masked and unknown
They don’t have an accent or a face
They have a horrifying name
Terrorists
Their battles are small and large
Recorded and unspoken
Everytime a child wakes up to a noise
And mother fears the terrorists are there
The terrorists have won a battle
When the lights go out and people panic
The terrorists have won another battle
Their only objective is to cause terror
Create fear and panic among the masses
These means have been used for decades
But never as the total campaign
They can sit in their caves far away
And laugh at the havoc and panic they cause
Havoc created by merely the mention of them
Panic made purely by the chance of them
This is a new enemy and a new war

But there are heros in this war
Working to combat these terrors
There are the soldiers who do their best
But when the objective is to create fear
In the minds of their targets
How can men with guns fight this battle
The unsung heros of the war are musicians
They are the ball players and teachers
The movie industry and the friends
Turn on a CD and for a moment you are there
In another world of sounds
Screaming melodies and wailing harmonies
Violins or guitars, synthesizers or pianos
Take your favorite pick
The crack of the bat, the swish of the net
These moments of intense joy and crushing defeat
Can send the demons and terrors away
That haunt your dreams and thoughts

So turn up your stereos
Scream louder when they make that basket
Whistle and cheer for the home run champion
This is the time when terror is gone
This is a battle they have not won

It sounds like you had a kick butt time at the MBR show. That rocks. Aaron’s drum solo was amazing. My jaw was seriously down to the ground after that. I was blown away. And I agree, the littel 14yr olds, they need to leave. They make the worlds most annyoing fans. I’m suprised I haven’t elbowed one of them yet. Its even worse at a Yellowcard show. “OMG Mr. Volin Player, I love you” seriously…

I was about ready to start throwing punches. I was so annoyed. But I’m glad you had a rockin’ good time. And yes, I’m a Yankees fan just to piss my dad off. He likes the Red Sox and I’m like haha Go Yankees. He’s about ready to banish me from the house. But it’s all good. Well, I think I’ve talked enough for now so… Take care and I’ll talk to you later *Heather*
