fairy tales

Alone the swings creaks back and forth
memories of childhood held in these rusty links
of a prince charming come to rescue her
and ride on his white horse into the sun
he would be tall dark and handsome
perfect in every way
promised to her when they were young
just like the fairy tales
he would have eyes only for her
and jealousy not in his nature
he would be her protector and lover
but never suffocating her
allowing her fly on her own
i should have read the fine print
attached to those tales closer
fairy tales are not real
and they never come true
but i was captivated by him
this tall dark handsome boy from my childhood
maybe he didn’t have a white horse
but the big grey cadillac was close enough
he protected me from any harm he could
but pushed me to be my own person
in him i found comfort, peace, warmth, love
he completed me and my world
and into the sunset in his big car we rode
i should have read the fine print
attached to those tales closer
fairy tales are not real
and they never come true
and now he is gone, my heart broken
it seemed like a dream in nevernever land
one i woke from to find no one there
all i wanted was someone to grow old with
someone to hold me and love me
someone i could love in return
he was supposed to be there
when i crashed and burned
but like a pop-song, all i have left
is a repeating chorus that plays in my head
over and over and over again
let me be the one you call if you jump i’ll break your fall lift you up and fly away with you into the night if you need to fall apart i can mend a broken heart if you need to crash then crash and burn you’re not alone let me be the one you call if you jump i’ll break your fall lift you up and fly away with you into the night if you need to fall apart i can mend a broken heart if you need to crash then crash and burn you’re not alone let me be the one you call if you jump i’ll break your fall lift you up and fly away with you into the night if you need to fall apart i can mend a broken heart if you need to crash then crash and burn you’re not alone let me be the one you call if you jump i’ll break your fall lift you up and fly away with you into the night if you need to fall apart i can mend a broken heart if you need to crash then crash and burn you’re not alone let me be the one you call if you jump i’ll break your fall ift you up and fly away with you into the night if you need to fall apart i can mend a broken heart if you need to crash then crash and burn you’re not alone

I lived the fairy-tale once, being the “Knight in Shining Honda” to my Lady in Red. At it was glorious to be the hero, to save her, to love and be loved by her; but in the end, Ladies want not a knight, but a man who has relinquished his sword for a ring. When the fairy-tale ends is when life begin it seems. Once again, I loved your entry.

Very beautiful Its hard not to believe in fairytales Love

i love you

how did u make ur words move at the end..let me no

I think that really captures the inner feelings all girls have…we REALLY DO believe that love is a fairy-tale and we will live happily ever after….until the reality comes crashing in and destroys our innocent hope and we are no longer those little girls in pretty dresses fantasizing about our wedding day w/ prince charming. : ) I REALLY liked this. Keep writing.

I have a poem…similar inner feelings represented…but more about seeking, waiting, and hoping desperately to find that secret, no-faced, stranger who is out there searching for me…to rescue me from myself and love me into happily ever after. I’ll find it and try to post it so you can see what you think.
