Three days, three seasons,,,and other stuff
Friday was cold, dark, and damp. The sky was a winter gray. The mist in the air carried a sleety feel. I was tempted to turn on the furnace, but plugged in my electric blanket instead. There was snow in the high country.
Saturday dawned sunny with that beautiful mountain "blue October" sky. I can almost see the aspen leaves outside my window turning gold… Temps in the high 60’s, very light breeze, and the beer and brats, punctuated by the "Oom-pa-pa" music at our complex’ Oktoberfest barbeque said "Autumn is here!"
Today it is supposed to be 80. A little hot for football, but our Bronco’s are already HOT!!! Experience has made me a bit pessimistic, I’m afraid, and I’m dreading their first loss. People around here take it so seriously……
Our hapless baseball Rockies finish the 2013 season in LA today. The last game for our "Toddfather". Todd Helton retires after 17 years. His whole career was with the Rockies. And a fine, fine career it was. He is one of the good guys. It won’t be the same down at 20th and Blake without him.
Good news. Papa is finally getting well. After two long and miserable two weeks. It seems the antibiotic they gave him to start with just wasn’t doing the job. A change there and he has been steadily improving. Went to the Oktoberfest yesterday and then sat and played bridge with me and a couple who recently moved into our building all afternoon. I took that as a sign that I could get the bedding washed up and opened up the doors and windows for a big gulp of fresh air… He even got up and made me coffee this morning.
Now I can be the patient. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. Quite sure I have a UTI and probably need a little antibiotic myself…
Such is life.
I am so glad Papa is on the mend. Hope you will be, too, after your doctor appointment 🙂

Make sure you get some probiotics to take when you are done with all the antibiotics. And glad Papa is on the mend. And you will be tomorrow.

Glad Papa is getting better. It seems it is always someone or something going wrong. Feel lucky that you are still able to take turns.
