About Papa
Papa got sick Saturday. Called the doctor and couldn’t get an appointment until Monday. Sunday night I took him to the ER with a fever of 103. They did all they could and then sent him by ambulance to the hospital. Monday they did all their tests at the hospital. Fever was up and down. Diagnosis was some unpronounceable (let alone spellable!) condition that wouldn’t happen to a woman.
Tuesday I brought him home. Fever still up and down. Quite high again Wednesday a.m. so we went back to the ER where we spent the day. They treated him for dehydration, reran the blood cultures, etc., were on the phone and email with his doctor and the hospital. Didn’t find out anything new, and, thankfully, saw no reason to send him back to the hospital. We got home around supper time so I fed him and he seemed to be feeling pretty good, but then the fever struck again. He was having terrible chills so I wrapped him up in a fuzzy blanket and finally got the heat pad on him and he warmed up. Can’t give him aspirin because he takes blood thinner for his heart condition, so gave him Tylenol. He wanted the electric blanket on the bed, so that’s what he got. I think he slept pretty good until about 4:30 a.m. He got up and turned the air conditioning on, took more Tylenol and went back to bed. He is sleeping again.
He has an appointment to see the urologist this afternoon. I’m hoping he’s well enough for me to take him…
Thinking about both of you and wishing Papa to be well.

Keeping Papa in my prayers and thinking about you. PS: I’ve been lurking here a little while. We have mutual OD friends and I’ve seen your notes to some of them. You seem like someone nice to know, so I came to check you out!

I hope he is well enough to go too and they can find out what is wrong. I never cease to amaze that will all the medical expertise we have that they cannot find out what is wrong with a person.
