August half gone

     August 18th?  Rusty’s school starts tomorrow!! Seems too early, somehow. ( I don’t think school ever started before Labor Day when I was a kid.  But that was eons ago.)  The college kids in the family will be headed to the far corners of Colorado, Montana and North Dakota by weeks’ end and this summer will be history. 

     The weatherman said last night that the monsoon season is over.  Already there are more fires in Colorado and some really bad ones in Idaho and Utah.  Probably Wyoming and Montana, too, but I haven’t heard of them.  I have a great nephew named Brad who is a fire fighter out there.  Please keep him and his crew in your prayers…along with all those brave men and women battling with their very lives to protect people and property.

     I haven’t been feeling the best the last week.  Funny.  It seems like every time I have a "slow" week, I get sick.  Probably all in my head:  too much time to notice all the little things… Best if I keep busy.

     Going to a party this afternoon/evening to celebrate a friend’s 90th birthday.  Nobody believes this gal is that old.  Looks and acts younger than me. 

     My little bridge group (foursome) plays this week.

     Other than that, I have the whole week to take inventory of all my aches and pains, take offense at imagined insults and slights, and throw myself a pity party.  You don’t have to come.
