Long week

I don’t know why last week seemed so long.  Guess it was having the holiday in the middle of the week.  Seemed every day should have been Saturday or Sunday.  It was a nice week, though.  Spending time with good friends and becoming better acquainted with our neighbors.

Tried out some new recipes, baking with alternate flours.  So far, so good.  Especially the brownies recipe I found.  They were outstanding!!!   Rich and moist and chocolatey.  Yummmmmm.

Did some reading.  After two books about nuclear power–bombs and power plants–I’m now looking at sappy romances and run-of-the-mill mysteries.

This next week promises to be interesting.  Monday: Casino hopping at Black Hawk.  Tuesday: Bridge with the apartment ladies.  Wednesday: Dentist. (Is it time for that again already???)  Thursday: Cocktails and Classics.  Friday: Fab 50’s with yours truly in charge, along with Papa and two ladies.  We will have to set up for the meal, decorate the tables, furnish appetizers, take part in the program and make sure everything gets cleaned up and put away.

Woke up at eight this morning to live music coming from across the lake. Lots of drums and bass.   Now it’s nap time and the  noise is from thunder.  Time to shut the patio door and let the A/C do it’s thing.  It’s pretty noisy, too, but more steady.  Easier to sleep to.

You’ve crammed a lot into one week. Hope you get a chance to rest too. Take care.

Alternate flours? Like flour with no gluten? I tried black bean brownies once. Not good at all. Even my friends didn’t like them. Since I’m not working I usually have no idea what day it is.

Wow! That’s quite a week. I have a coffee on Monday with a couple friends, and am taking Gretchen to the groomer at 11. That’s it for the week and I feel busy. LOL!

Yes, it was an odd week with the holiday being in the middle.

I kept getting the days messed up last week, too!
