Celebrations
There will be a big party in the park across the little lake tonight. We will have ringside seats for the fireworks.
We invited friends Jim and Shirlee for dinner, bridge and show, so that will be fun. We thought we would be able to see the fireworks perfectly from our deck, but if they shoot them from the fishing pier it looks like our view will be blocked by a tall Aspen tree. No problem. We can go down stairs and out on the front porch to watch.
For dinner we will be having "picnic" fare. Since we can’t grill on our little deck, I decided against burgers, chicken or steak; so it will be brats on buns, baked beans, potato salad, etc. I baked a batch of gluten-free, sugar-free mocha/walnut brownies last night that turned out pretty good. (I had to sample them to make sure…) Have spuds and eggs cooked for the potato salad. Will work on the other stuff as the day goes along. Nothing fancy. Just plain stuff and good friends.
Hope your Independence Day is special. Hope we have many more….
Sounds like a pretty nice time, and I hope the weather cooperates to make it even nicer….. 🙂

I like your menu. I hope they don’t shoot them from the fishing pier, but to avoid fire it might be safer.

Or you could chop down the tree that’s in your way 😉

Oh lucky you, a view of the fireworks. When we use to live in Fort Collins we were 3 blocks away from City Park where the fireworks were every year. We’d host an annual 4th of July party and everyone would walk to the park for their viewing pleasure, too many old oaks on our block to see clearly. I hope your event was fun!
