Whats in a name…

Okay, ladies and gents, baby names.  We were originaly going to go with Abigail Marie.  Marie is my mothers middle name, and my grandmother and I share a middle name, and I always thought it would be great to give my daughter her grandmothers middle name, to carry, or to begin a tradition, ya know.  WEll….

Thomas is a huge Phoenix Suns fan.  HUGE, like WOW.  We have like a little, getting bigger every day shrine to the suns on our wall with toys, ticket stubs, hats, you name it.  And they were doing well in the play offs this year if anybody follows basketball.  Thomas wanted to name the baby after the team if they won the playoffs.  He said if they won, it would be because of her.  Well, they didnt, (and that doubly sucks becuase we were at the final game, me in my bright orange Nash shirt looking like a walking pumpkin, both of us with face paint on, and Thomas painted his entire face oragne.) but I kinda fell in love with the name Phoenix.  Not only do I think the name is pretty and exotic, and very femine, but we had two previous miscarriages before this days away from being successfull pregnancy and Thomas really liked the symbolism.  The "Phoenix", a baby bird that rises from the ashes. 

So, here’s the deliema.  I currently live where, phoenix of course.  And the girls at work, not that I care that much what they think, but they think it would be really mean to name the baby Phoenix, even as a middle name.  My parents love it, as do alot of other people I’ve asked, but it what order?  We cant get rid of Abigail completely, because I allready have a necklas that I got for mothers day this year that says her name, and we had the ultrasound pictures copied onto actual printer paper with her name on them.  But do we do Abigail Phoenix, Phoenix Abigail, Abigail Phoenix Maire, Phoenix Abigail Marie, I JUST DONT KNOW!!!!!  And the babies on her way.  She’s due NEXT Friday.  I just dont know.
