Ramblings
“Every now and then take a good look at something not made with hands- a mountain, a star, the turn of a stream. There will come to you wisdom, and patience, and solace, and above all the assurance that you are not alone in the world.” ~Sidney Lovett
Things have been quiet. I don’t have classes on Tuesdays or Thursdays, so I spent Tuesday running errands. It was quite nice. I’m looking forward to cleaning my flat tomorrow. How sad is that? I mean really? Who the hell spends their free days cleaning their flat? Well, plenty of people probably do it, but I just can not get over it. I think it shows that I am growing up. I wonder when that happened exactly, but I’m beginning to see that it has.
Darry and Dulce have been wanting to get together lately for dinner. I called on Monday night and left a message telling them when I was available and that they could choose what fit with their schedule and get back to me. Planning with our schedules is so difficult, but it is starting to get a little easier. Darry called me today, but he had to leave a message. He proceeded to inform me that the tonality of my phone message was contradictory. Those were not his words, those are mine. He informed me this evening that the message starts out real happy, but in the end I sound depressed. I’m not sure how my tone can change in the ten seconds that it was recorded, but apparently it is different.
After talking to him, we decided to get together for dinner tomorrow night. I’ll have to finish my chicken curry for lunch tomorrow. It’s interesting, this curry that I’ve made. I decided to be adventurous and add peppers. I added a green pepper and a yellow pepper. I don’t really care for bell peppers, but I decided to use them. I was pleasantly surprised. Bell peppers are much better than I remember as a child. I like the smell of them on pizza and I am beginning to like them. I just don’t dig them raw. Maybe that one will grow on me.
The committee is planning programs for the spring. We talked on Sunday night and are thinking about having a kickball tournament in April. I think it sounds quite fun. I don’t know how we are going to work out the logistics of it all. If we will make the four buildings compete against one another or if we will comprise teams of people who sign up. I look forward to this and think it will be great fun.
I ran into Turk today. It was funny to see him. His brother has transferred to our Uni. I’m not sure how Turk feels about his. His brother wasn’t doing well at his last uni and his parents were worried about him. Well, I met him today for the first time. He seems like a nice kid. He has his own style, which is quite attractive. Turk and I were talking about how we don’t go out all that often any more and how we feel old. I was thinking about it this afternoon that I don’t go out as much as I used to, but I definitely make it worth my while when we do go out.
I’ve been trying to get a hold of Big C this week. I can’t seem to ever catch him. I’m planning my trip to visit him in Boston. I’m looking forward to it. I am going to go speak with a travel agent next week in hopes that I can get a decent flight.
Ah, kickball. Brings back the days in my elementary school… I think I broke a kid’s nose once when I kicked the ball into his face. RYN: We do these things even when we KNOW it’s a bad idea. 🙂

Well just to let you know, you sound a lot more mature than when I first read you last year. It does come as a big surprise to realize you are growing up. You sound good lol.

I can’t stomach peppers unless they are in salsa. I can’t figure out why I can eat them like that but they make me gag any other way. I guess that’s just how I am.

I hope you’re having a successful cleaning day 🙂
