Doctor’s News and Studying

“If you observe a really happy man, you will find him building a boat, writing a symphony, educating his son, growing double dahlias or looking for dinosaur eggs in the Gobi Desert. He will not be searching for happiness as if it were a collar button that had rolled un the radiator, striving for it as a goal in itself. He will have become aware that he is happy in the course of living life twenty-four crowded hours of each day.” ~W. Beran Wolfe

Last Thursday was the barbeque at the complex. We had a really good turn out and the band that we hired was really good once they got started. I was a little leery in the beginning. There were hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers. Some of the girls that I work with were there and we had a good time. Charles showed up and eventually Pate came down from the office to get some dinner.

I went up to the office to talk with her for a while during her shift. We had fun taking the piss out of one another. Charles popped up there a little later and we all talked and joked. It was fun, then I had to leave to run some errands.

I woke up at 5 am on Friday morning and was on the road before 6. It was a nice drive back home and then I had the doctor’s appointment. Good news is that the cyst is gone. This is very positive. The negative news is that I still feel pretty crappy. Hot flashes, night sweats, nausea, and loss of appetite are not positive things in my opinion. My OB/GYN told me that he couldn’t do anything for me and that my estrogen levels are fine so I need to see my primary care physician. I got an appointment with my doctor and she was a little worried so they took blood to look at my blood, my blood sugar, and my thyroid. I’ve had thyroid problems in the past, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was something like that.

Came home and my parents and I went out dinner. They took me to Red Lobster. It was so yummy and it was a good time. My family always has a good time together.

After dinner, I went over to Big C’s before I left. It was his mother’s 50th birthday and his brother’s 21st birthday so they had a big celebration. Big C’s family has a lot of property so it was a proper barn bash. It was nice to get to see Big C. OG and his sister were there. I got to catch up with all three of them and it was fun. I headed out about 8pm and headed back to Uni.

I got back around 10:45 and called Manny. He was over at Vinnie’s (which is right across the courtyard) and said he would come over. I told him he didn’t have to, he was with the guys, he could spend time with them. He said that it was fine and that the guys were at the liquor store anyway. I said not to worry about it and that we could just talk on the phone. I informed him of everything and then I told him that I would like to spend some time with him sometime within in the next few days. He said he would come over, I said that he didn’t have to. He said he was on his way over.

About fifteen minutes later he shows up. I asked him if he had gotten lost because it shouldn’t take five minutes to get to my flat from Vinnie’s. He told me that the guys had gotten back from the liquor store so he had a drink with them. They went to go shoot pool. I said that he should have gone with them, but he said he wanted to hang out with me. That and he really can’t shoot pool with a broken finger.

We talked, joked around, and then ended up making out. It was nice and then hours passed. He had to come over around 11:15 and the boys called him around 1:45 telling him that they had returned from shooting pool. I answered his phone when it rang because I knew it was Vinnie. Vinnie was surprised to hear a girl answer Manny’s phone but you could hear Charles in the background yelling how Manny had gotten a blow job from me. I then heard Vinnie telling Charles to shut up. Charles was completely smashed that night. Manny left around 2:15 that morning.

I think it is hysterical how everyone outside of this relationship thinks that there has been more to it than there actually has. We have only made out. Shirts have come off, but trousers/pants/jeans, whatever you want to call it have stayed on. I don’t foresee them coming off anytime soon and I think that is a good thing. Too many people are into rushing into things. I realize that when I was with Jinx, things moved way too fast. That’s why I like how Manny and I are moving really slow.

Saturday was spent at the library working on my paper for my Cuba class. I’m not really sure what to think about this paper. I spent some good time on it, but it only has three primary sources and three secondary sources. I think the professor wanted ten sources for this paper. However he never handed out a paper saying what he wanted so I’m not really sure what is required. I find that class to be terribly unorganized.

That night I watched Monsoon Wedding, that my friend told me to watch. It was a really good movie. I really like it and am thinking of investing the soundtrack. That night I went to bed at 9 pm and woke up at 9am on Sunday. I was really nauseous that night and I really needed the sleep.

Sunday was spent studying for my psychology exam tomorrow. I’m not sure how that exam is going to go, but we shall see. Manny and I were suppose to watch a movie last night, however he had to study for his Western Civilization midterm. He wasn’t going to, but I told him he needed to and that we could hang out over fall break.

Yes, Fall Break begins on Thursday and needless to say, I am super excited. I’m taking Manny out to dinner on Wednesday night and hopefully we get to watch a movie that night or something. However, for now, I need to get back to studying for my exam tomorrow.

I’m glad your doctor determined that the cyst is gone! It’s terribly disappointing sometimes, though, when you feel bad and doctors can’t tell you why, or what to do to feel better. I hope you get some kind of answer soon — and start feeling better quick. Getting a LOT of sleep is my standby perscription for whatever ails me. And boys were always good for my health too 🙂

*fingers crossed for the exam*People always think there’s more going on in a relationship than there actually is. You and Manny are having fun and there’s no reason for it to go faster – enjoy!!

Hope you get your health sorted out quickly – I am certain some of my students see me as disorganised…
