Annoyance.
One of the perks, so to speak, of being knocked up is that my moodiness is heightened. I get more annoyed than usual at little things. But because I can’t yell at the people who do these things that annoy me to stop it, I write them down instead with the hope of a little catharsis. Generally, it’s Facebook that brings out the below irritations most often. So, for no particular reason, I give you:
THINGS THAT ANNOY ME
– Calling something ‘cray’/ ‘cray cray’ instead of ‘crazy’. You sound like an out of touch teenager. Please stop.
– hashtags on Facebook. they serve absolutely no purpose. None. You cannot click on them and be taken to a page where others have used the same hashtag. THAT is the only legitimate reason to use them. On Twitter and Instagram. Also? Hashtags that serve as a punchline are rarely clever unless you’re an established comedian.
– “so this happened.” Its just overused and past it’s expiration date, in my opinion.
– lack of punctuation (ex: “this sucks I went to the store they were so rude to me I can’t believe they treat customers that way!!”) This drives me batty. How are you an adult? How do you not know how to separate your sentences??
– ‘lol’. I have always hated LOL. But I especially hate it as part of a sentence. (“I can’t believe I ran over that parakeet, lol”)
– posting a lot of self portraits for no discernible reason. Especially when it’s captioned with something that has nothing to do with the self portrait. Everyone knows that you’ve just taken a pic of yourself ( that looks like every other self portrait that you post several times a week) in which you think you look hot and want everyone else to see it and no other reason whatsoever.
– ‘welp’. I just don’t get the addition of the ‘p’. ‘well’ used to suffice just fine.
– “that awkward moment when…” This is equal to “this just happened.” The overuse has driven this phrase into annoying territory.
That’s all. #ForThisWeek, lolololol!!!!!!1!!1!!
i agree, and i’m not pregnant (i hope…) 😉
Warning Comment
Also not pregnant, but these things just drive me crazy. See? Crazy.

Ditto indeed. Particularly the LOL part. I have a 42 year old friend who uses LOL as if it’s the only word available to her. ANNOYING!

Text speak in a Facebook status update. There is no character limit so no need to shorten it. I swear to go seeing GR8 raises my blood pressure. Would typing 2 more letter really kill them? And again, these are adults!!!
Warning Comment
I agree with all of this! I especially despise the lol. And you’re right, for some reason it is even more annoying at the end of a sentence.
Warning Comment
Yes! A thousand times, yes!!
Warning Comment
I really dislike ‘that awkward moment when’ because they’re awkward sentence fragments. UGH. I don’t mind the clever hashtags though, sometimes they bring the joke/status to a new level of funny if they’re done well. (I don’t do it, personally, but I admire when others can pull it off well.)
Warning Comment
Oh my God, I love you pregnant.
Warning Comment
Agree with all unless used ironically. Hashtags are sometimes an artifact of cross posting software like HootSuite, though, so I let them go.
Warning Comment
All of these make me want to go on murderous rampages, especially LOL.
Warning Comment
the hashtags drive me bananas.
Warning Comment
🙂 I am also not in favor of using the term ‘ship instead of “relationship”. This seems to be a trend around here.

I get on EVERYONE when they hashtag their Facebook statuses and are not linked to Twitter or Instagram. My exact wording is usually, “you know that hashtags on Facebook serve no purpose, right?” THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT.
Warning Comment
oops, guilty of “WELP” . 😛

Ugh, this baby is making me a bipolar crazy bitch. (I left out Cray Cray for your sanity). RYN: I honestly think that little girl was named after the Arian (sp?) nation. Her mom was in prison (that’s where gage the 4 yo was born. No joke). Her youngest baby is Angel and oldest boy is Christian.

This is a brilliant list. Alas, I no longer have pregnancy as an excuse to be annoyed by these things. (Stumbled across you via [kerplotchies].)
Warning Comment
Can we please add: -“Epic” -“Totes” AND my biggest pet peeve: -I”m not going to lie… “
Warning Comment
I don’t think there’s anything I do that isn’t irritating to you. I’m like the pebble in your shoe of life. What I hate are paragraph/paragraphs-long hashtag parades attached to a photo or in place of an entry. “JUST WRITE A GAD-DAMNED PARAGRAPH!!!” I scream. And most of the hashtags have nothing to do with the entry. How does a wiener dog necessitate “#healthyliving”? People is cray.
Warning Comment
I LOATHE “not gonna lie”. Good. DON’T. And get on with your comment. I have this issue with my 41-year-old sister who thinks she’s going on 16. “That ain’t cool, baby,” I tell her – but she looks at me like I’m cray because she’s checked the astrological charts for this quarter and determined that it IS cool and to not be cool would make her the uncoolest in school. If this was 1980-whatever.

Y’all DO know that Facebook’s planning on introducing hashtags, right? Read a story on the Twitter about it a few weeks ago. Life’s about to get #realshitty. #notgonnalie
