and now.

I keep not writing in here because I haven’t got much to say. The daily ins and outs consist of so much of the same that it’s dreadfully boring even in my own head. I’ve got this ridiculously awesome, exhausting little boy that makes my heart swell and contract in on itself but I’ve also got twenty four hours that repeat themselves over and over with hardly any change worth noting and certainly nothing of the exciting variety worthy of a diary entry.

I thought of my brother a few minutes ago. Someone had said they needed to “come correct”. He used to say this a lot. Got it from some sports radio DJ and oh, how it bugged me. Now, hearing it, it just gave me a strong twinge of bittersweet that I still don’t know what to do with all these years later so I just push it back to back there somewhere.

I lost all my pregnancy weight in 10 days. And then I lost a few more. I had been pushing a little pudge prior to getting knocked up and it was so lovely to have one of the benefits of having a newborn be that having zero time to do anything else, let alone eat properly, be a bit of easy as fuck weight loss. I’ve since gained back a few bastard pounds, those fuckers. I’m normal for me, but damn if I don’t miss that ‘they’re just melting off!’ business. Fingers crossed for these few new lbs to take a hike when I’m done breastfeeding though.

I miss photography, my extension of me. I never was without my camera. If it wasnt in my hand, it was in my purse, along with at least one or two separate lenses. I miss just going off and snapping unsuspecting passerby or catching the afternoon sun just right filtering over some Los Angeles street. I can take a million self portraits but christ I’m sick of my face. One of these days I won’t be lugging a baby around preventing me from lugging my equipment around and I can just drag my little toddler with me and all wil be well. In the meantime, I’ll just keep shooting him and exploiting his cuteness over and over.

Talking of, Getty Images has licensed a good number of my photos over the past year and I’m excited to say that they just scooped up several of Max, finally. What a thrill. Lets make him the breadwinner of the family, I say!

And now, I give you photos.

He’s a total doll! Just cutting back a little on nursing helped me dump a couple of pounds. Sadly, still so far from my pre-preg weight!
