time moves on.

It’s sometime in the morning and I’ve got a sleeping babe on me. It’s the sweetest bit, the moments and minutes and hours I look forward to the most. I watch movies on my tablet or stare at his cheeks that are getting plumper by the day and when he breathes those sweet little sighs full of sleep, it melts me.

Said goodbye to a friend last night. My very oldest one, dating back to first grade and barbies and all through the years as we collected Bop and Teen Beat and tacked up pictures of The Coreys to our walls. Tried my first puff of a cigarette with her and then other tools of inebriation, all in the name of feeling cool and experimentation. She’s headed for Washington next week and a group gathered in a swank hotel bar last night to send her off.

Today my little family and I are heading out into the sunshine and brisk wind. We’ll bundle up the boy and stroll through fountains and stores and soak up the day until its time for the sun to set and the lights climbing up the gigantic Christmas tree in the center to come alive and we’ll get to watch as a little bit of wonder fills my boy’s eyes.
