Photography Update

Well I can finally tell you the exciting news that I did not want to jinx! I have my first wedding scheduled for April 26, 2006. I just received the deposit check. WOOT! I am pretty excited.

Now I can get that other back light I need (when it comes off backorder) and a black background. I have a bid on one on eBay but I will probably get out bid. I always get out bid. LOL

I talked to my bank about an SBA loan. Unfortunately – that will not be an option for me at this time. There is so much I need – a new camera being near the top of the list.

I finally got those maternity photos finished. I spent over an half an hour editing each photo – some upwards of an hour. I am pretty happy with the way most of them turned out.

Next up on my calendar is my sister’s MIL wants some photos done on Wednesday. I told my sister I would discount my session fee but I could not do it for free as I spend a lot of time post shoot in the digital darkroom adjusting lighting and color and taking care of blemishes. I am not as expensive as other photographers in the area – but if she wants SUPER-CHEAP she can go to Wal-Mart.

I honestly can say I do better work than Wal-Mart – where they don’t do any touch ups. Proof being the photos I had done there of Kal, me and Autumn when she was 3 or 4 months old and she had a big drool on her chin. I refused to give those photos out to anyone. They are still in the envelope – a constant reminder to me that I can do better work.

She also started to complain that the photos I took of my niece were not “family style” and made her look older than what she was. Well, excuse me, she said you wanted photos for a modeling agency… she said I could put make-up on her. I did not use a lot of make up either. She looks older even with out make up on. I told her we could do another shoot with my niece for “Family” pictures.

Well I am off. I have to take care of Autumn – as she is screaming at me.
