stuff & talk about the online game i play EDIT

Life has been hectic to say the least. This is going to be short because today i have a migraine and I still have to finish the laundry – dishes and grocery shop.

I went and saw the attorney last week to see about getting SSI Disability because of my health problems from the accident. They think I have a pretty good case. So I signed a ton of paperwork and am waiting for a call from them to let me know when my application will be. She said expect to be turned down the first time and maybe even the second.

At least I took that first step. The benefits won’t be much – but at least it is something and will help with the bills.

I am in another Flare. Not a big one – but one none the less.

In my online game SWG – I have been elected mayor of my city. Desire who is a great friend of mine is having Real Life (RL) take her away from the game for a season so I stepped up to the plate.

I have already started to stir up the pot – I was already asked why I added so many new members to the city council. We now have 8 people on the council – I no longer have a vote. I did because we needed new ideas and more help. Our city is dying. A member IMed me and said he was leaving the guild and the city because there were not enough group activities. I just won the election a week ago. I have just started to be in the game more – as it is a real stress reliever for me and I am trying to recruit new citizens and maybe even a guild or two to the city. I asked him to give me some time. He said he would stay until September 1. He said he owed me that much. BUT he wanted to give up his seat on the city council – said because I added so many people there were too many chefs. Sigh. You know. Some of the council members used to just sit there and not contribute or ask questions or offer suggestions. I added more people so we can get ideas flowing. We can spread the work out among the council – so it is not just one or two people trying to do all the work. I love Des with all my heart. I felt that she took all the work of the city unto herself. She turned it into a real job – one usually plays online games to escape for a few hours OUT of RL – why make your online life into such a big stress as your RL? So anyway I asked him if he wanted to attend the next meeting or have his resignation be immediate. He said he would think about it.

I actually have actually increased the seats around the conference table to 12. If we recruit a guild they will receive a seat on the council and I would love to have one of the non guilded or someone who is a citizen but in a guild outside our city have a voice on the council too.

Recruiting a guild will be a difficult task, I think. I need to find a guild who will support me as mayor and not try to take over the city. Stargate was built by our guild, A Few Law Abiding Citizens , and we have worked hard to get it to the place where we are now. But as with all online games, people leave, either the cost is too much, they get bored or the developers make changes that the players do not like.

Ok enough about that. I am done talking about the game. Most of you are not interested in it anyway.

I am re-reading a favorite book of mine, Memoirs of a Geisha. I am about halfway through.

Well I hear miss thing. I guess I better go get her and do the shopping so we can have lunch.

Sorry I am so boring.
*EDIT* UGH The car won’t start. Battery is dead. FIL on his way over to see about giving it a jump start. Bah *END EDIT*

*hugs* Hope the flare up doesn’t last too long, and you can get it under control soon. Sounds like you have great ideas for that game! 🙂

i love you girlie 🙂

RYN:The weekend of the 23rd? Well, that Saturday, Meghan has a bday party to go to up in Ormond, then I am going to a wedding that is at 7. Meghan will be spending the night at her dad’s and Connor at my mom’s so I won’t have to worry about getting home at a certain time. (Or getting up early the next day) Sunday-not sure. you?

Memoirs of a Geisha: my daughter tried to get me to read that & said it was great. Is it THAT good??? Also, I’m already running into problems with my short term disability. It’s as if they don’t believe one has a debilitating illness & they prefer to discourage one to just give up. I’m not giving up. You don’t either. If I qualified for SSI I would take it. That’s what we pay taxes!

I’m praying for your health. *HUGS* Your game sounds interesting… lol Good luck, Mrs. Mayor. 😉

LoL. you seem pretty into the game yourself. Kisses

Madame Mayor! I like that! And you’re right, you need input from the council members; it’s not a one-person show by any means.

That’s a good book-enjoy!

Me and several of my friends have been having a rough time in our current SWG Guild – but we can’t bring ourselves to /guildremove just yet. We have put so much into and we’re not ready to give up on her. And there is also that we have some interest in.
