Its Autumn time again…

Well it is time for me to post some more photos of Autumn.

How about that-not such a long time span between photo entries this time! AMAZING!

Autumn had her first sit on her own bath in the sink the other day. She is sitting on a towel so she doesn’t slip. She loves taking a bath this way.

She plays and splashes and loves to get mommy all wet! The toys you see in the sink are from Sassy. I am not sure what they are called but they have suction cups on the bottom and the heads, if that is what they are, are attached to strings and they float.

WHO? ME??

She loves to play, play, play.

She is getting doing really well with sitting on her own for longer and longer periods of time. She cannot sit up by herself yet though. She is almost rolling over. She goes from back to side and gets her bottom part of her torso correct, but she just cannot figure how to get past her arm to get all the way over. LOL She will get it though. She is trying so hard. She really wants to do the more advanced stuff first, like standing. We keep telling her, “Sweetie, you have to do the rolling over first, before you can stand.” LOL Mom said I was the same way. Always wanting to do the stuff I couldn’t do yet and getting frustrated when I couldn’t do it. LOL

Since the doc said to go ahead and start on solid foods (in addition to breast feeding not replacing any meals, but adding to them) we have started to do so. So far she has had bananas, rice cereal, applesauce, avocado, and today she tried sweet potato for the first time. Once again, she wants to do things she is not developmentally ready for… wants to take the spoon and feed herself! It is too funny to watch her!

We are not doing jar baby food. It will work out much less expensive for us if I smoosh my own food and only purchase jar food for emergencies. I purchased a brand new mini food processor/chopper (magic mixer to those of you in the UK) just for her food. I had one already, but it is 9 years old and is permeated with garlic and onion smell. I don’t think mashed bananas and garlic sounds very appealing.

Well that is about all for now. I better get to bed so I can get at least 20 winks before miss thing wakes up and wants to eat. LOL It is already 1am.

First Entry for Wednesday.

I mashed all my own baby food too 🙂 One thing you can do that saves time when you need it is mash up carrots or whatever, put it in a clean ice tray and cover it in (a double layer of) plastic, and freeze it. Then when its frozen you put the food cubes into ziplok freezer bags. Each cube is roughly one ounce, and it makes mealtime go much faster than starting from “grind” every time. 🙂

oh and lightly steaming most veggies makes them soft enough to mash or grind, but not soft enough to change the flavor to…well, you know the way those dark green canned green beans tasted in elementary school?

Alec LOVED sweet potatoes! In fact, to get him to eat carrots I had to start mixing them in with the sp’s and gradually cut the mix until he was eating 100% carrots.

Brennan hated the sweet potato but loves spinich and carrots mixed. They are so silly 🙂

Mason used to have that same butterfly teether….DONT put the darn thing in a steralizer..it will melt…I personally know…damn thing. HAHAH

I don’t know what it is with Sweet potatoes! I haven’t met a baby that didn’t like them! And I second the Ice cube tray Idea! My friends do that with their home made rice cereal and heat it up with a little formula or breast milk and the kids LOVE it! She is ADIORABLE! And has such big Beautiful eyes!

hehe cool! She’s getting so big now!

Aww, she’s so pretty.

She is soooo cute…I like those toys she is playing with in the tub. I am going to TRY to make my own baby food this time…(notice TRY)…when she starts table food…we will be in the middle of moving somewhere..lol

She’s so cute!! Funny, but she reminded me of Ryleigh. How old is she now? 4 mths? Neat that you’re making your own baby food.

She is adorable. The kids used to take their baths in the sink until they got too big and loved it! It is so much easier on our backs too. lol

We’re going to mash our own food too. It’s so much easier and cheaper! Look at her sitting up! What a big girl!

;o)

She’s just beautiful!!! xxx

mmm bananas and garlic. how appetizing. lmao. She’s so big! I can’t believe it! Greg is still flopping over when I let him go to sit up…. I give him two more months. The boy can already go from tummy to back (it scares him though, lol). RYN: taking you off faves so you’ll come see me! LMAO. Just kidding.

she’s gotten so big and is so adorable!

We did the jar, but also the homemade. Adi liked homemade sweet potatoes best. Payton hated baby food.

Wow, she’s doing so well at sitting! Ben will sit up when he wants to, but usually he sees something he wants so he dives to the side to get it! =)

Awww look at that little face! She is so cute! 🙂 I hope I’ll be disciplined enough not to buy so much jar food this time. I really have no excuse for not cooking myself. I was just lazy last time.

What a smart of cute baby! You have a magic mixer? I’m so jealous.

September 29, 2004

She’s adorable!! We got a bunch of Sassy toys for one of our showers….looks like they’ll come in handy 🙂 I can’t believe how big she already is. what a cutie.
