Doctor appt., other baby stuffs & a fiasco

So I went to the doctor appointment. They weighed me listened to baby’s heartbeat and felt her position. That was all. I asked about why Autumn went nuts after they put the monitor on me yesterday and Doctor lady said she was responding to her own heartbeat. LOL I guess Autumn digs that crazy rhythm!

Doc did not check my cervix and told me that she did not think I would have the baby early. I am still hoping for a Cinco de Mayo birthday. LOL

My next appointment is set for Friday next week.

Only 12 days left until the C-Section. WOOT!!!

Ok on to talking about the nursery and other baby stuff.
I have the cushions for the rocker and ottoman FINISHED!
Table cloth for the little table next to the rocker FINISHED!
Lining the wicker basket is FINSIHED!
The lamp on the table is FINISHED!

The only thing I am lacking is the crib bumpers and dust ruffle.

I am still going to try to get the wooden letters made to put Autumn’s name on the wall.

I changed the sheets on the crib, vacuumed the floor, picked up all the trash from opening up packages that held all the wonderful baby stuff we have received so far.

I put the diaper bag in order.

Finished my thank you cards AND they are sitting in the mailbox waiting for the postal carrier to pick them up. (For those of you who receive one – I hope you can read my chicken scratch)

I took pictures of the room and will post them, hopefully, later today if I can sit that long…

Now for the part about the fiasco:

Sis, niece, mom and I decided we would go out for supper last night – We have coupons for what is usually my favorite restaurant for BBQ, Woody’s.

We get there and decided we wanted all you can eat ribs. Well we cannot use the coupons there. Not a biggie. So we order four all you can eat specials. All you can eat ribs; I chose Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and apple sauce as my two sides.

45 minutes later we still do not have our food. Finally the waitress brings out our food. I ask for more gravy. While she is getting my gravy we start to eat. We discover that all the sides are hot but the ribs are ice cold. WTF? Waitress comes to the table with my big bowl of gravy and we inform her that the ribs are cold so she takes the plates of ribs back and says she will have them cook us new ribs. And she said she would have the assistant manager come over and see what she could do to make it right with us.

She took my plate. Fine, ok not a problem, but it had my mashed potatoes on it so now I have a big bowl of gravy and no potatoes.

20 minutes later we still do not have our ribs. I ate my apple sauce. I just stared at my gravy with sadness in my eyes.

The assistant manager never came to our table, seems she was chatting with someone on the phone. Tell me if you ran a restaurant and your special for the day was All you can eat something – wouldn’t it be already ready, especially with something like ribs? If you were the manager, wouldn’t you want to make things right with your customer so they would come back and not tell their friends about what lousy food service you had? We got to the restaurant at 7 and left at almost 9.

So anyway we never did get our food. We told the waitress we were fed up. The waitress said she would not charge us for what we did eat. LOL All I got to eat was apple sauce. We ended up going to another restaurant down the road a block called Billies Place. We had our food in less than 15 minutes and it was yummy.

I am thinking of going down to Woody’s and talking to the STORE Manager or finding the owner. They need to know what goes on They need to fire some cooks and get a better assistant manager.

Mom said she is NEVER going there again. I am more apt to give them another chance. Unless it had been something like bugs in my food or something like that. Then I would be like – NO WAY. LOL

Ok, that is all for now.

Second entry for today

LoL @ the food fiasco. I’ve had that kind of thing happen before. 🙂

Where is Billie’s place and what kind of food do they have?

sounds like you are all set and ready for her to come. i can’t wait! I am getting excited for you! =)

what a stupid restaurant, seriously. i wouldn’t go there again!

April 28, 2004

That is so wrong of them to mess with a pregnant woman like that! Soooo wrong.

I got cruddy service like that at a restaurant in my hometown when we visited, except we got our food–except my daughter, and no forks or eating utensils of any kind…it was so cruddy they didn’t even offer to take anything off the tab so we paid for it, left no tip and swore never to come back…

April 28, 2004

I’ve only ate at Woody’s once and had the same kind of problem, but the manager actually came over and talked to us and didn’t charge us for part of the meal…

April 28, 2004

Wow, you’re coming along in the nursery 🙂 Just think, soon the nursery will be filled with a lil someone and all her things 😀 The longer she stays inside you the bigger she gets to come out at, and the sooner she’ll be outta the itty bitty clothes 🙂 hehehe 🙂 I know I wouldn’t give a restaurant like that a second chance…

bummer service 🙁

I haven’t been reading your diary for that long, and I have been trying to back read, but…I have a question (if you don’t mind)…why are you having a C-Section?

My sister’s born on Cinco de Mayo!

LMAO not that its funny but you wait all that time then get cold food, how dissapointing, then you end up with nothing. :0|

Keep us posted if you do go back and talk to a store manager. Story was rather amusing.

RYN: Yeah, I can see how having a C-Section would be a good idea then. Thank you for answering my question. 🙂

I would be pissed. i work in the restaurant industry and so I know how things can be and I get really mad when I get bad service because I try my damndest to give the best and make sure our customers leave happy. The baby’s room is really coming together. We have 3 big jobs (fencing the yard, building a shower, and getting a new car) and then we will start on our last 2 projects, baby room

and insulating the house. We still have a ways to go yet, since I am only 12 weeks, so we have plenty of time. You are in the home stretch, congrats!

RYN: I just read your entry on the church job firing, I would have been upset too. When I got fired from my job at the trucking company, even though I hated it there, I was still upset about it. For me, I felt worthless, because I had lost my job and then couldn’t find one for the longest time and I know that having a job, or not having one in this case, really had an impact on my self-worth.

Say, I used to read “Deep Within” (ie: Kim, Meghan and Connor) all the time, and was even on her favorites, but I some how removed her from my favorites list awhile ago and I haven’t been able to find her diary. Do you know what’s going on there, I’d love to know what’s going on with her?

April 28, 2004

I’d go back and talk to them, half the time the managers are clueless as to what goes on and if they don’t know they can’t fix it! I can’t wait to see your pics xxx

Don’t give them another chance. Rip them a new shiney asshole! ;oD

Almost down to double digits!WOW!

I work at a resturaunt called LongHorns and that kinda shit happends nearly every weekend and the managers would offer to cover the meal, get a free dessert and give out gift cards!!!!! I have been in that situation many times

April 28, 2004

wow, that’s really crappy service!! i’d be devastated if my favourite place did that – *eyes well up at the thought* heh heh. have a great day 😀

Almost 2 hours and you still didn’t get your food?! Jeeze!

April 28, 2004

I hate service like that! A restaurant is meant to be there to serve the customer food, not to make them sit there looking at an empty plate! I’m glad everything’s okay with Bub 🙂 (HUGGLES)

im due on cinco de mayo, but im hoping for may 1st, (or any time before that!)

April 29, 2004

Well, everyone makes mistakes, but when a mistake THAT big happens where I work, I fix it. Period. That’s what they should’ve done, too.

April 29, 2004

Post pics of the room so we can see them—please! stephfaith

April 29, 2004

–random noter– i really hate when the resturants are slow.. its like, do they really care they are losing money?

April 29, 2004

what sort of wooden letters are you looking for? No luck on the sling, I’ll keep looking, but the only one on the parents network got snapped up before I emailed.Getting so excited for you. And darnit, I have BABY LUST (The wild desire to have another baby when your own kids are getting BIG). **sigh**
