A Walk in the Park
Dear Diary,
I had a good weekend with not much to do but household chores such as laundry, cleaning and shopping. I did however get in two nice walks and a little jogging too.
I made a point to go to the reservoir this afternoon to walk the 5 mile loop. I love that park because when the majority of the people are not there, it is one of the most peaceful places to walk in the middle of multitudes of PEOPLE.
I brought my camera along and took some photos along the way. It was getting dark near the end and I had to hurry back so my vehicle wouldn’t be locked in. I knew I was the last one to get back because I was on my own and alone, so I jogged and walked fast to get back. Approaching the parking lot, I saw my truck sitting there under the street light and not a car in sight. I didn’t even see the park ranger so I thought, " OH CRAP, I’M LOCKED IN AND I LEFT MY CELL HOME!!" I quickly opened the door and as I got in, I saw the park ranger’s truck pulling up. I high tailed it out of there to avoid reprimand.
I drove home and felt so good from being in the fresh air for over an hour.
wide path to the nature center.
rocks that form a retaining wall for the reservoir.
ducks swimming amongst the dead forest drowned by the reservoir.
reflections of the dead forest, with ducks!
the sun is waning and the ducks are slowing down…
I thought this cattail looked like a fuzzy little birdy….
on the other side of the reservoir the trees are all twisted and snarled.
Pretty cool!
This is a nature blind for people to view the wild life from within. I’ve sat in this blind many times in all season. Today though I had to get going so my vehicle would not be locked in.
The walk was so refreshing…daylight saving time is only a month away….then I can walk after school.
Peace,
LYB
There is no snow! Wow! It looks like summer…almost! I like the cat tail picture.
