Doing some spray painting
This weekend I decided to paint the roof of my car, all the driving had weathered the paint so it looked bad. I got the kit of paint and other items and set about the job. Lots of the work involves masking the area, and the entire garage that I had to use for this. I ended up encasing the car and the garage in plastic. The smell was still horrible, luckily I had a respirator and goggles. I hope our neighbors won’t hate us now.
I ended up with too little paint to cover the bad spots, so I just got some simple satin black cans of spray paint at O’Reilly’s for $5 instead of the $25 I paid at the online place. I can not wait another weekend for online stuff to appear. It is an old car anyway so it should be ok.
Am a little high from the paint fumes…

Taking DIY to the next level…excellent.

I know you want to do a good job, but I think $5 paint is probably OK because nobody looks at the top of your car except the NSA.

ryn: Right. I heard something I didn’t know today about US warmongering. A speaker about veterans’ college benefits said that every active duty American soldier serving since 1990 is considered a war veteran because the US has been fighting somewhere ever since Saddam invaded Kuwait. That includes eight years of Bill Clinton.

No worries. Ppl are stupid.

ah what an adventure. what a big project. how did it turn out? Is it like painting a room where you spend more time on preparation by putting up all the plastic than you actually do with actively painting?

You need to get a vehicle tall enough that you can’t see the top.
