Hi! *answers* *update*

My trip to Helen was fun. I have around 80 photos to share. As soon as I have a chance I’ll upload them to my Flickr account and show them off here. There are lots and lots of pictures of the town and not so many of me and the friends. But they’re pretty I think.

It was a good trip until Sunday. On the way home from Helen I was two hours away from home when Julia called and said she had wrecked the Four-wheeler (ATV… whatever you call it) and she was bleeding from the nose and mouth. AND MY FATHER WAS.NOT.HOME. No, she asked him before he left if she could ride the machine with her friend Taylor and he said yes. HE SAID YES and then LEFT THE HOUSE. So he wasn’t there. She called him NINE TIMES on his cell phone. The first three times he ignored it. The last six times he had cut his phone off.

I.want.to.kill.him.

She’s ok. Her nose has a small fracture and her front tooth is loose but we went to the dentist yesterday and he said it will firm up in a week or so. I really, seriously wanted to hurt my dad. He’s been remorseful about it but honestly? He seemed more upset that Julia damaged the ATV rather than being upset that she was injured. I hate him.

Anyway.

Spending the weekend with 4 people who have children of their own and hearing them talk about nothing but how much they miss their children and then this accident with Julia makes me think about having my own children and you know what?

I don’t think I want any. I … Everyone says that will change when I’ve married but I don’t know. I don’t think so. I know all through high school I’d tell people that. I know when I got out of college and was taking care of Julia full time I told people I never wanted children. I don’t think that’s going to change. I’ve had my child. As strange as that is – I’ve been around Julia since day one. I’ve helped raise her. I guess I’ve developed this adoptive parent mentality towards her. I love her so much. I just don’t really see me having children.

*shrug* Just babbling thoughts right now.

Answers to the book meme the other day! (Only books 9 and 10 were answered.)

1. Rain fell that night, a fine, whispering rain.
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke – I love this book. Seriously, if you haven’t read it please go pick it up. It’s fantastic! They’re also making a movie out of it! You want to read it before the movie is released, right?
2. It was a nice day.
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett – It was hard for me not to just put all of Neil’s books down here but I narrowed it down to two. 🙂 I love this book. Go read it.
3. I stood in the shadows of a deserted shop front across from The Blood and Brew Pub, trying not to be obvious as I tugged my black leather pants back up where they belonged.
Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison – I’m in love with this series. It’s fun. (OH, and if you would like to read it for yourself let me know. I have the Ebook.)
4. THE STORY OF (Terisa) and (Geraden) began very much like a fable.
The Mirror of Her Dreams by Stephen R. Donaldson – I didn’t expect anyone to get this one. No one I know has actually read this series. It’s great though. Pure fantasy.
5. The temperature of the room dropped fast
The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud – I really liked this book. I’ve been reading a lot of Young Adult books and this one has stuck with me. The story of a demon and a boy who summons him. It was a fun read.
6. The day I died started out bad and got worse in a hurry.
Undead and Unwed by Maryjanice Davidson – I did NOT expect to like this series of books about Vampire Queen Betsy but they are so silly and ridiculous that I fell in love.
7. It wasn’t a very likely place for disappearances, at least at first glance.
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon – I love this book. Seriously. It’s such a rich book. I just get lost in it. I need to finish this series sometime soon.
8. The camera flashes blinded him for a moment.
The Mummy, or Ramses the Damned by Anne Rice – This is the ONLY Anne Rice book I still read and enjoy reading. I love Ramses.
9. The night before he went to London, (Richard Mayhew) was not enjoying himself.
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman – My favorite book EVER. Angiekins and Goodnight Clark got it. =)
10. It was nearing midnight and the Prime Minister was sitting alone in his office, reading a long memo that was slipping through his brain without leaving the slightest trace of meaning behind.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling – I couldn’t decide between POA and HBP so… I just picked the one that I thought might not be so obvious. =) Angiekins and Will got it.

YAY for books. (Oh and if any of you should need to read any of these I am the ebook queen.)

And now I’m done for the day. I have a buttload of books to shelve before I have lunch with Adam today. I should go do that so I can go to lunch on time.

*hugs all around* Love you guys! I hope you’re all doing well!
