October

If you don’t know: October is my favorite month. I love it. It’s Autumn and it starts to cool off here in the South… the air is just different. The moon just seems bigger and brighter and FULLER in October than any other month. Halloween is in less than two weeks. I’m not doing anything this year but I still can’t wait.

Anyway… enough about October.

I actually got up in front of 30 people on Saturday night and sang. I did. It was my first time singing Karaoke. I was nervous like you would not BELIEVE and I even had a drink to help calm my nerves (Mmmm Blue Lagoon Margarita…) and it did help a little. My sister and her new boyfriend took me to a little Oyster bar last Saturday night and after I perused the Karaoke Song book and debated over a number of songs (Love is a Battlefield, Foolish Games, Fancy) I finally decided on one of my Mom’s favorites: Deana Carter’s Did I Shave My Legs For This?. Now, see, normally I don’t like country music. In fact, there was a time when I wouldn’t be caught dead listening to country music. But I’ve mellowed a bit and My Mom would have loved to see me up there singing Deana Carter… so… that’s what I did.

I got a standing ovation.

WOOT!

It was so much fun. I’d like to do it again sometime.

This weekend my friends Jodie, Carmen, Jesse are accompanying Julia and I to the Carolina Rennaisance Faire in Concord, NC. YES! I’m going back to the RenFaire AND! I’m going in costume! WooT! *dances* Yay! I can’t wait. I want to see the Tortuga Twins AND! Ded BOB! Honeythorn always lists that as one of his favorite things at the Colorado RenFaire and now I get to experience that show. Yay!

Also, Friday night we’re attending a Revolutionary War Ghost Walk on the Broad River. Should be so much fun! A weekend away from home. I really just can’t wait to go.

Many pictures will follow I’m sure. 😀

So… yeah…

*twiddles thumbs*

Never did get back to see Serenity again. I had been planning on going to see Elizabethtown last weekend but was too busy with karaoke. I just found out that our local Drive-In Movie theater is opening a SECOND SCREEN next weekend! OMG! So happy. I love that place. Should any of you ever come pay me a visit we definitely have to go see a movie at the drive-in. I don’t understand why the Drive-Ins died out. They’re so much fun!

Well, I suppose I should be off. *hugs all around*

Have a great day everyone!!

Much love!

Alcohol and karaoke and drive-in movies. Sounds like heaven to me. 🙂
