This weekend has been a bit hectic, both good and bad, but mostly good. I’ll write more about it when I’m a little less tired and bitchy.
This weekend’s low points were that at the start of a five-day stretch on Friday evening, Andrew pulled an evening shift to noc shift double because the scheduler asked Andrew as a last resort. He truly had no choice but to ask. Andrew still worked 5.5 of his 7.5 hour shift the following Saturday night. Then last night he was asked to stay an hour late, turned into an hour and a half which left him scrambling to find a way home which a coworker took pity on him and did just that.
The good points. I was able to take him a good sized meal for noc shift, and in taking that shift all the hours he worked on Saturday are pure OT (yay for $21 an hour at that point). Last night’s extra hours are not only at OT for the holiday pay itself, but will throw him into OT on hours alone by the end of the week, because he works today, tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday. For the holiday weekend, since he had to work he let me spend Friday night and Saturday night with Jesse since I usually go on Saturday nights anyway, and that way I didn’t have to be home alone Friday night as both of my roommates are moved out now. Andrew got a ride home from his friend/co-worker Nina Saturday night, and hung out with her until 3:00 AM which was good for him. He freely admitted it was kind of nice to hang out with some of his friends without me there which I bear no insult towards. Thanks to Morrigu, I now have some headway into which kind of spinning wheel I’m going to drool over until I have money to get one as I would truly love to learn how to spin my own yarn.
Like I said, all in all, an interesting weekend.
