I guess I’m just very confused as to what now? How do I feel? Disappointed, I think, more than anything else. Quite honestly, I fear allowing things to be what they will be, because of her comment about men. I think I might write her a letter.

I found you on random and I have to say, as a woman, I tend to agree with you. I am older than you but I remember when I was that age. I don’t like what she said to you. It sounds condensending and like someone who wants to keep all of her options open. JMO though. Good luck!

If you are trying to establish a healthy friendship with her, you may need to back off a bit and give her the space she asked for. Friends may not like what the other person is doing, yet they still support and love that person and are there for them if things do or don’t work out as planned. Do you truly believe it’s possible to be friends with her? I think it’s very difficult when one personhas stronger feelings than the other person. You end up fighting with yourself and your feelings. Just things to think about.
