Entry title: Some rooms are still dark that are filled with light.

Last night Matchbox 20 was in my dream, and they were doing this weird thing where Rob Thomas (the lead singer) was singing and the rest of the band was making sounds with their voices to create the drums and guitars, and they were all just trailing around the stage. It seemed almost like a good idea.

Superman was also in my dream, the Christopher Reeve version, and he straightened dollar bills with his superpowers. Not one crumple left!

Also, my old friend Sarah had just gotten married, and I asked her how her first time was, and she started crying because of how rude my question was, and I apologized; I will never ask that question to anybody again, who isn’t male.

I’m really digging (it’s the only word that fully captures how I feel about it) the new Decemberists’ album. The bass line on the first song is wonderful.

(As an aside, three of the songs are about the Japanese tale of a man who comes across a crane in the snow which has an arrow through it’s wing. He helps take the arrow out, and revives the crane. A few days later a woman shows up at his house and he takes her in, and they fall in love and get married. They are poor, but she tells him she can make a cloth that will sell for a lot of money — the catch is, while she is weaving it, he cannot come into the room. After a while of this happening, the man gets curious and looks into the room. He finds a crane sitting there, and it’s pulling feathers from it’s wing and puting them into the cloth. The woman stays a crane, and flies away. What does that say to you?)
