It is Friday..
I’m tired of fighting with the Princess about her lack of eating. So I want suggestions beyond beating her or killing her, she apparently is much like her mother and has texture issues, plus she still has no front teeth making it hard to chew some foods. She is anemic and very pale at the moment. She hates soup but loves dairy but she is still sick so she can’t eat that right now. So what can I feed her?
oh we have texture issues here. if she likes yogurt try every flavour of that, or take some plain and add some milk, vanilla and sugar and make it a thick drink. cottage cheese is good with fruits in it. rice pudding. peanut butter and banana sandies is the big yum around here. i am not sure what texture she doesn’t like.

*laughs* peanut butter is a wonderful invention. tell her like i do my kids. you don’t like what i make? you know where the peanut butter lives, if not, starve. i am not going out of my way to beg someone to eat.

ryn: *pets you* only you can stop the madness. she doesn’t have the allergy yet, don’t borrow trouble. you could always get her vegamite and start making her that for every meal. make it so that she finds food or starves. really. i have very little patience for people who try and make me miserable with their pickiness. i have good food and healthy choices here, it is their job to feed themselves if they don’t like what i am providing. i am not a short order cook, despite what they may wish.

Feed her high calorie drinks for people who can’t eat, like Ensure. Carnation makes a lot of them and you can buy many over the counter. They are nutritionally complete so if she will drink them you won’t have to worry about her not getting proper nutrients. If you can get a doctor’s prescription, insurance might pay for part of the cost. 🙂

I used to work for a pharmaceutical company and we had droves of “Enteral” patients, as they were called. There is a huge variety of products available. If you can’t find something nutritionally complete at your grocer or Wal-greens, call a home medical supply company.
