Status Report for 2-3-11

First exam of the semester. Only felt dumbfounded by a simple question. Not bad. Felt confident about the majority of my answers. Far better than my first run through calculus so many years ago, when the entire class was just saved by the curve.

I really want to see the professor’s solution to that one problem. Hard to write up on a computer. Something like lim x->3 of sqrroot(x-1)+1/(x-3). Normally you just factor to get rid of x-3 to get rid of the discontinuity, but staring at that square root made me go “Oh crap.” He’s done a problem like that before, I just forget.

The other problem I was sorta stuck on, I managed to prove that the lefthand limit didn’t equal the righthand limit, and thus didn’t exist. Hope that’s what he was looking for. I made a damned table of values to show it!

Car insurance is due. Sigh, bills. Guess it’ll be a couple MORE months before my bank account recovers. Christmas gifts, gym membership, tuition, BOOKs. I’m holding steady, I just wish I had more in my bank account. (Don’t we all.)

Definitely in that mood where I don’t want to do anything. I only have some reading to do for my other class. I speedread them before, I need to to properly read them. I should take a half hour and look up resources for my speech/paper. Little bit at a time, rather than putting it off.

If I were at home, I’d probably just take a nap. I got sleep last night. I just.. want more sleep?

Missed my workout yesterday because of the weather. Or lack thereof. Really, it rained. We were told a foot of snow, and what happened? It fucking RAINED. I was on 80 in the morning, and it just wasn’t a big deal. Walkways were probably slippery, but otherwise it just wasn’t that bad out. I’ll hit the gym later today, and that’ll be it for the week.

The girl got me playing Aion. Ah, another mmorpg. Knowing me, I’ll play for a couple months and then stop. With everquest2, I just reached that point where I wanted to do everything and ultimately said “Ugh, fuck this!” I need to feel like I’m accomplishing something. And thus why the beginning of the games are the most fun for me.

Also, Kelly seriously spanks the game. I’m getting upwards of 140 fps with all the settings turned up. It’s pretty sweet.

I’ll dawdle for a little more, read, then eat and play dragon quest until class.
