Lifting for 1-7-11

Admittedly didn’t get a lot of sleep last night because I was stupid and stayed up late for no reason. I’ve been sleeping great most nights, so it wasn’t an issue. I’ll get sleep over the weekend.

Had a case of the stupids on my third set of squats. Came down, and my weight shifted forward ever-so-slightly, and the bar hit the safeties. Figured it made more sense to just let it go, rather than try to reset at the bottom. Stripped the quarters, cleaned the weight back up, and rested until my second attempt at five. Banged it out like your grandma.

Came into the gym with the “this is light weight, I’m going to kick ass” attitude. Don’t feel like the weight is “crushing” me yet. Just gotta keep a positive attitude. Another ten lb pound jump next workout, for sure.

I love how powerful that first rep of cleans can be.

Added two more reps to chins.

Weight is up around three pounds from two weeks ago. I’m not doing an all-out bulk or anything stupid like that. I’m just eating more. I don’t need to gain a lot of weight. I just need to make sure I don’t LOSE weight. If my progress backslides, the last thing I want to hear is, “Well, are you eating enough?” I may actually break 170 lbs by the time this is all over. Last time I weighed that much, I felt like a big fattie, and otherwise felt terrible. Overeating is retarded. Aside from increasing portions, I’m increasing milk intake from around two gallons a week to 3-4 gallons a week. Can’t pull off much more than that.

Gotta run to work.

RYN: That’s because meat is delicious. And while I love the taste of meat, I don’t like how heavily is sits in my tummy. I don’t follow the standard vegan flag. I may not like the treatment of farmed animals, but that wouldn’t stop me from eating them. No, for me, it’s all about how I feel after I eat meat. It’s like there’s this ten pound weight on my stomach and I feel slow like I needa nap. I don’t feel this way when I eat no or very little meat, so I’m going to try out eating no meat or no more than a few ounces per week. At least that’s the goal. No one ever said I would make it. *laughs* But pineapple is good too. ‘Specially fresh. Omg nomnomnom fresh pineapple! It sounds like you have the perfect attitude for someone who’s exercising. Some people seem to take it waaaaaaaay too seriously. Sometimes you gotta do what you’re body wants you to do and nothing else will do. =P
