PRESENTS! We decided to open presents yesterday (the 18th).

A notable gift. I’ve been very resistant to get into any DS games, but I simply can NOT resist Dragon Quest. Shortly into the game, I discovered a CLASS SYSTEM. I FUCKING LOVE CLASS SYSTEMS. It’s like Dragon Quest III, and the skill system of Dragon Quest VIII. ..Ahem.

I think we were both really excited to play this. I was actually pretty atrocious at the original GoldenEye. When we first booted it, I picked a weapon at random.. which turned out to be a rocket launcher. Despite losing (no surprise), I had a lot of fun hearing her squeal every time I’d miss slightly and have a rocket fly by her head.

Also, she found it easier to use the WiiMote and nunchuk, whereas I found it easier to play with the ‘classic controller’.

She also nearly refused to play with me when I accidentally picked a sniper rifle. She’s a sore loser. : D

Stuff! Somewhere in there is NBA Jam, I’m really looking forward to playing that. I can only hope Obama is unlockable or something. I remember the original had Bill Clinton as an unlockable character.

Still in the mail is the girl’s red limited edition DSi XL, and Donkey Kong Country.

We rule.

What we did for the rest of the day. After getting our initial fill of GoldenEye, she played Epic Mickey while I played Dragon Quest IX.
