Lifting for 12-8-10

    Day B, Week 1

    RDLs
    3×10 @ 185 lbs

    DB Shoulder Press
    10, 8, 7 @ 35 lbs

    Wide-grip Lat Pull
    10 @ 125 lbs
    7, 6 @ 120 lbs

    45 minutes cardio

Need to remember to use a mixed grip on the second and third set of RDLs. Otherwise, I’m strong enough to go heavier.

There’s two lat pull-down apparatuses in my gym. This is the one I don’t normally use, and for some reason, it’s.. heavier than the other one? Weird. The same weights don’t feel the same. I prefer the other one. Maybe it’s the angle of the cable, I don’t know.

I like to say “steady state” cardio, but I suppose I’ve been changing the speed too much for it to be a hardcore steady-state. In a way, it’s closer to an informal interval. While I need some sort of plan for lifting, I pretty much wing it on cardio. I just go by how I feel. Sometimes I can go at a high speed for a while. Other times, I feel alternating between a higher speed and a lower speed, progressively throttling myself higher. Which makes sense, given what I know about exercise physiology. By 30 minutes, I’m able to sustain a much faster pace than when I started. Concurrently, I’m allowing myself a little more time to ramp up. Warm-up, whatever.

I had awesome chicken vindaloo with the girl last night, then watched Home Alone. Did I mention that? I forget. Kind of an informal tradition for us, indian food followed by home alone. Hey, they just can’t do physical comedy anymore.

Because I know nothing about human health: my blood pressure is 104/70. Is that …too low? Is there a such thing?
