Lifting for 10-15-9

I haven’t seen snow in october since I was a kid. Actually, I’m not sure if I remember snow in october. Remember it in November, and it’s been a long time since I’ve seen snow before December, either way. It gives me hope that we’ll have a nice long, harsh winter. Snow makes me happy.

It was cold in the weight area. I think someone forgot to reset the thermostat. Oh well.

I got a cramp in my hamstring during my top set. Dead-serious. Leg-drive is critical if you’re on a top set. I’ll, uh, make a mental note to warm up my hamstrings in the future. I am immensely amused. Probably could have gotten 8 if I hadn’t gotten that cramp.

Flew through my accessory work.

Played Uno with the girl last night while watching scrubs. Both enjoyable. Though. As we’ve talked about, I kind of prefer doing one at a time. I’ll be paying attention to scrubs, and then feel like I’m not engaged in playing uno. And then when I pay more attention to playing uno, I feel like I’m not engaged in watching scrubs. I find it stressful. She seems to enjoy multitasking in this fashion. When I relax, I prefer to just do one thing at a time and not having to worry about multiplexing.

I guess when I was regrowing as a person, one thing that made me feel good and alive was to focus on doing one thing at a time. When I showered, I’d shower, and notice all the shower-related things. Or something as simple as walking to the ShopRite this afternoon through the snow. I took a moment to admire all the pretty fat snowflakes falling from the sky. It made me smile.

Sure, I mulitask, or think about other things when I’m doing mundane tasks. I just like immersing myself in some activities.
