On Immigration.

I don’t really know what either sides of this issue are, really. But I have my own little perspective.

I’ve worked with a lot of hispanics. I know hard-working women (and men) who work two jobs doing things most people consider “beneath” them. Their kids go to our school systems. They have cell phones. They have friends. They have families. These are living human beings with thoughts and feelings.

So this idea that immigrants are “stealing” jobs kind of perplexes me. At best, the hispanics I know are making it harder for your average high schooler to get the job many of them consider beneath themselves. Especially during a recession.

If anything, it’s the indians that conservatives should be riled up about. They’re the ones taking high-paying jobs. They’re also notoriously bad customers.

Seriously. Hispanics may be hard to understand, but they’re generally extremely easy to please customers. Indians on the other hand… Don’t get me started. If they accidentally get meat in their order, they act like we’re trying to poison them. They’re about as bad as your average upper-class whitie with their custom orders. Hispanics just want to eat! No complication.

Just thoughts. I like hispanics. And indians are a pain in the ass. Heck, I’d know – I’m half Indian. I used to think my dad was unique in being a bad customer. Turns out it’s just in his blood.
