Dorney Park, expounded.

We got up around 8 AM. I was EXCITED. I got up, thinking Candi would be tired and want to sleep more. She got up shortly after, which made me happy.

I took 57 down to Dorney Park. It’s a quaint little road. I forgot where to get off of Route 22, silly me for expecting there to be signs for Dorney Park off a major highway. There were signs off of 78, though.

We were parked way back, by a tree. There was a large SUV in front of us. I suppose that’s par for the course. We used a coupon and paid for ADMISSION. Then we were ADMITTED AND INSIDE THE PARK. YAY. My first ride was going to the bathroom. The girl declined, as there was a line for that ride for girls. Ha ha.

First ride of the day was the swings. And honestly, I think that was the longest line/longest wait for us of the day. C`mon, swings are awesome and you know it. Though, the kid behind us on the swings was being a gigantic butthole.

I was wearing my fedora, and Candi realized she forgot her hat at home. So I bought her a hat. It’s cute and has snoopy on it. She subsequently peed.

Let’s see….

We went on the Thunderhawk. I somehow recall liking the coaster, though I was reminded of how.. violent it was afterwards. I wanted to go on it because I knew the lines would be short. This rung true. I also just like the “idea” of it being a wooden rollercoaster. ..I felt like I had a concussion afterwards. Jesus. The g-forces aren’t that great, but the ride is almost painful at times. Candi felt like she was going to fly out.

Next we went on the Enterprise, which is my favorite small non-coaster ride. I just find it.. relaxing. Unfortunately, I think the way I was leaning against Candi, I was squeezing her bladder. Or something. It’s amusing to watch the ride from the outside, as people are clearly upside-down. Yet when you’re in it, you don’t “feel” upside down. Isn’t that so cool?

Feeling much better afterwards than as compared to the Thunderhawk, we passed by Hydra and decided to go on it, at a whim. Man. That first ride is always the best. Both of us were a little nervous beforehand, as we were with the Thunderhawk. But afterwards, we commented on how much better it was. Man. Something about steel coasters are so SMOOTH. And despite there being more g-forces and more turns and all that good stuff, it wasn’t violent at all. We were thirsty so we bought some frozen lemonade and enjoyed it in the shade. And went on Hydra a second time. Woo. We went on the Enterprise a second time, as well. Candi wanted to go on the tilt-a-whirl, so we did.

Then we both peed. OH. We did that silly Olde Time picture thingie where the picture is in sepia. They’re cute. I’ll scan them at a later time.

Cue lunchtime. I bought a small cooler with some bread, turkey, and gouda cheese. And mayo. I forgot a knife, so I used my finger. C`mon, you know you’ve been there. I forgot to put water on the cooler, so we had no cold water. This peeved Candi. Whoops. We slathered up in sunblock, I changed into my trunks, and we headed for the water park. She held the monies against her boobs, and I put my keys in my back pocket. It closes via velcro and there isn’t a space large enough for it to fall out.

Let’s see. I didn’t have anything to write on when we were in the water park. I recall heading for the lazy river first. Which had WAY too many people in it. I did enjoy getting soaked, of course. We went on some tube slide where you have to carry a tube to the top of the slide. It was supposedly a Level Four Thrill Ride, but we were extremely “That was it?” afterwards. Short, and not that exciting. I was too scared to go on the bodyslides, as they scare the crap out of me. I think it’s because you can’t see where you’re going.

So we went to the wave pool. I never saw the point of the wave pool, but Candi wanted to go in. We amused ourselves during a nine-minute interval where they turn off the waves. When the waves started back up, I kind of got into it. Or, at least, I got a good calf workout.

After that.. I think we were hungry again. She got some corn and I had a big weiner. A big 1/2 weiner. I’ve had better, but it was filling. We got a big mug filled with lemonade. She was still hungry, so we went to.. a sit-down place. Game Day Grille, or something. She had a chicken wrap, and I had some water and nearly fell asleep on her.

I wanted to go on COASTERS and said that lines would be SHORT. Candi was skeptical, pointing out that there may still be lines. I WAS RIGHT AND THERE WERE MINIMAL LINES. Went on.. Steel Force. Very tall. It’s scary up there! Enjoyable. Better than Thunderhawk. But we still thought hydra was better. So, we went on hydra two more times in rapid succession. Then, we went on Talon, and stared at the back of the seat in front of us while we were whipped around. Enjoyable, but meh. Went on hydra one last time, for a total of five times. I kind of wanted to stay until close, but Candi warned of the rush when people leave. I don’t know, I didn’t get a sense we’d have that problem, but I listened to her anyway. We refilled our cup with some sierra mist and left. Smooth sailing except for this one area of 78 that was down to one lane. Should have just taken 57 back.

Next time, I’ll try to do some big coasters early, then do more little dinky things in the middle of the day. Only “little” things we did were the Enterprise, tilt-a-whirl, the swings – oh, and two games of SKEEBALL. I freaking love skeeball.

We got home around 11:30, I was exhausted, and we fell asleep fast. Or, at least, I fell asleep fast.

Candi wants to go to Lake George next week. YAY, FUN.

for a little ride, tilt-a-whirl packs a classic punch that never gets old
