I felt really good today. Something about going in on a day that I don’t normally lift. I added two extra repetitions to my bench and row, which brings me closer to necessitating a weight increase.
My front squats finally stopped feeling so awkward. My warm-ups were solid ass-to-grass squats, and my work sets weren’t that much different. I’m finding that a momentary pause at the top of each rep lets me focus on my form better, rather than trying to do each repetition as fast as possible.
At the pace I’m going, the volume from the shoulder press and pull-up pairing will catch up with me. So I dropped the last set. I figure I’ll do the same when I reach five repetitions in each set. I was tempting to continue with some dips and pull-ups, but I refrained. I did some lateral raises and curls instead. Ha ha.
Sorted out my bookshelf. I recall where it used to be, forming a dead-space by my bed. I don’t even know why I have a bookshelf, I never read. Still, there are some books I have read, and enjoyed, and can’t bare to part with. Not to mention those old childhood books that you’d be stupid to throw away. Clue books, I can do without. But you don’t throw away Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Well. Maybe I could.
I had to talk myself out to keeping my old calc books. Seriously. I actually HAD to have this discussion with myself. I haven’t touched them since I finished the classes, why in the world do I keep thinking, “In case I feel like looking something up.” IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
Though, I’m definitely keeping some chess books I have. Extremely useful.
Once I finish the corner there, I can go about clearing my dresser. About time I recycled a bunch of empty vodka bottles. Decorative and memorative, yes. But not something I need. I may take down my White Castle wall, too. It’s inevitable.
Such a packrat, I am. I just try to tell myself, “This has sat here for the past couple years collecting dust. You’re obviously not doing anything with it.”
I’m also doing laundry. The clothes in my hamper have sat there since at least February, untouched. It’s a testament to just how much clothes I am that I can go until freaking AUGUST without doing laundry. Maybe it’s because I work so much and don’t wear street clothes for a high percentage of my time. Or that I’ve been wearing the same shirt for the past week. Ha ha. I still have more clean ones hung up in my closet. Dead-serious.
Speaking of my closet, I intend to optimize my closet-space. I have two empty boxes in there, one for my computer case, the other for my LCD that I’m looking at right now. Neither have moved since I built Roxanne. The case box I can ditch – I’m convinced keeping the LCD box (complete with styrofoam) is exceedingly wise in the event I need to move her.
Though, I think before I go back to cleaning, I’ll kill some more zombies. Left 4 Dead hasn’t lost its charm yet. Hopefully I won’t be stuck with people worse than me. I’m not a terrible player, it’s just a bad sign when I’m the best player on a team. Like the dumbass yesterday. I healed him with a medkit because he was near death and had no pills or anything. Immediately afterwards he runs up to the witch and starts shooting, and was immediately down. In this game, a witch will immediately incapacitate you, negating all health. So I basically wasted a medkit on the dude. Complete “WTF, dude, I JUST healed you!”
