(Usual stretching)
Deadlifts felt good today. I don’t do midrange deadlifts enough. NROL tends to have them with really short rest periods, so taking those few extra moments to catch my breath makes a big difference in terms of my confidence and performance. And since I’m only doing three sets total, I don’t have to pace myself. More intensity, less volume.
I almost got that 8th rep during shoulder presses. Almost! It was halfway up, and I pressed for it even though I knew I wouldn’t be able to lock out. I figure half a rep is better than no rep. Made some progress on all the 12-rep sets.
That post-exhaust superset knocks the shit out of me every time. I find myself having to be mentally set before I do it. I still hold rest periods of around 45 seconds for it. I figure the goal should be about a minute, so aiming for 45 seconds means I’ll REALLY hold to it.
It feels good to be in the gym with some frequency again! And look at that, I’m making progress, at least strength-wise. If I make progress hypertrophy-wise, we’ll see in a month. My fingers are crossed.
