Exerbabble for 9-29-7

I was so exhausted last night. Maybe I didn’t need it, but I took a quarter of melatonin (.25 mg) to ensure I’d fall asleep timely. Did wake up a couple of times, but I otherwise slept pretty damn good. I woke up at 5:55 AM, giving me a few precious minutes to stretch out in bed naked before actually getting up. Also, I had a massive erection, proof of how rested I was. I know I get erections on a regular basis (just given how I don’t go a few days without wanking), but I love having really solid erections. Doesn’t everybody like a firm erection?

Anyway, I was out the door around 7 AM, and otherwise on time. Today’s Workout:

    NROL, Hypertrophy I
    Day B, Workout IV

    Set/rep: 5×5
    Rest: 90 seconds

    BB Back Squat:
    3 @ 45 lbs, 3 @ 135 lbs
    5, 5, 5, 3, 2 @ 185 lbs

    BB Deadlift w/Shrug:
    3 @ 185 lbs
    5, 5, 5, 5, 4 @ 225 lbs

    Alternating Sets:
DB Bulgarian Split Squat: 5×5 @ 15 lbs
    DB Step-up: 5×5 @ 15 lbs

Reverse Crunch: 3×15 @ BW Rest: 60 seconds

    (Usual stretching.)

It’s not that I expected today to be easy, but damn. I think my weight guesses were right, I just sometimes forget how hard it is to tell yourself one more rep. Maybe I could have squatted for full reps, but something in me told me it wasn’t time. My form was going a little bit, I felt like I wasn’t right in my groove. Straight sets kind of screw me up, strangely, as I’m always afraid I won’t hit that last set. Oh well. Basically, I eased off, so I know I can at least match it next time.

I felt like my hips were way too high while I deadlifted. I rarely deadlift second, after all. I recalled how it was only a few months ago when I pulled 10×4 @ 225 lbs. I forgot to shrug on some of the reps. Those shrugs really mess up my rhythm. My strength tends to drop off rapidly after 225, so I spotted myself a rep for next time. Maybe cheap, but that shit’s hard.

The bulgarian split squats and the step-ups were a lot easier than I expected this time around. Despite the double the reps (five each side), I felt like I got a little more rested towards the middle sets. Got more tired again towards the last set, of course. I undershot the weight, only 30 lbs total, so I could survive and otherwise increase next time with confidence. Also, I really wasn’t sure how the squats and deadlifts would effect me.

After I started into the workout, the soreness from Wednesday wore off. I was sore as hell. But only a little. My hamstrings are still tender to the touch. I suspect I’ll still be sore tomorrow – I anticipate I should be fine by next Wednesday.

Gotta finish eating so I can sneak in a nap.

RYN: HAHA… “heavy petting” was all that we could do at the time because of outside constraints. LOL! You nut!
