I don’t think I should have gone in today. I had to abort my workout after my first superset, because I felt like I was falling asleep. I know what my normal alertness is, and it just wasn’t there today. My front squat form was putrid. My second set didn’t have full depth, and I was having a horrible forward lean. How the hell can you have a forward lean during front squats? I must have been trying to favor my glutes, as usual. I also started spacing out during sit-ups, which is very unusual for me.
This is very strange, because past workouts, I had so much spare energy that after finishing my workout, I’d add some extra sets of front squats. But today, oh man.
I’m kind of done with this phase. As in, a complete void of enthusiasm. I’ll start Phase VI on Saturday, if I have the energy. If not, I’ll improvise.
It sounds like you did the right thing by stopping early. Hopefully you’re feeling energized tomorrow. 🙂
