Fact of the Day for 12-5-6

There is no secret to weight loss, muscle growth, or overall health. Diet and exercise. Stop eating crap. Space out your meals, plan your meals, eat less processed foods, eat complex carbohydrates, reduce your fat intake and get enough fiber, eat a variety of foods to cover your nutritional needs. You are what you eat. Get your ass in motion. Make yourself sweat, use your muscles, get your heartrate up. Sustain a level of intensity, regardless of what you’re doing. There is no substitute for handing yourself your own ass.

And put in some effort, put in some thought, put in some focus. Health doesn’t come in a pill.

I’m going to have to print this off and put it up somewhere. Good thoughts!

Excellent notion.

DAMN RIGHT. I had a similar real-life rant with a coworker when I was pregnant. Honestly, unless you have a glandular problem, it’s easy as pie to be fit. Start by drinking water instead of soda and walking places that are less than a mile away instead of using your car. THAT’S my diet plan. It’s worked great all my life.

I read this entry whilst eating a bean burrito with sour cream. Almost made me want to stop. Almost.

Well, I hate working out, so walking for me is great. It’s a full-body exercise. What I hate the most is when people go on some crazy crash diet for a few weeks, then go right back to their old habits of eating junk and acting like a couch potato, and go, “Oh, how did I gain all this weight back? I’ll never get skinny! Oh well! I give up!”
