Got up early before 7, without an alarm. It’s not only the first day of NaNoWriMo, it’s also DITL day.
Overheads felt okay. I don’t think I’ll increase the weight. I’d be liable to topple over. I almost lost my balance once or twice, throwing my right foot forward for balance.
I’ve done the DB front squats, so be it, but I don’t see what bruising my shoulders with 50 lb dumbbells will do for me. BB Front Squats require more technical form, so I switched. I backed off from 115, because my form was fading. I couldn’t keep my elbows up. I tried keeping the bar back towards my throat a bit more. I already have the grip (or lack thereof) down pretty good. I wore the red mark across my chest proudly. (I lift in a wife-beater.)
I forgot what I did for leg curls two weeks ago, so I guessed.
Second set of calf raises, couldn’t hold form, so I lowered the weight.
During front squats, I noticed my left side was straining to keep up with the right. I decided to test out one-legged romanian deadlifts, and BSS. The former requires more balance than I anticipated. I went slow. Also, my ponderings as for whether the off-leg should go back was answered quickly, as it raises to, guess what, balance you. As for BSS, all I can say is OW. I’m definitely going to be pleasantly cursing them in Phase IV.
It’s so funny to walk out of the gym with a pump in your left glute but not your right. Though, walking up the steps on campus, my right leg felt more tired. Strange. Maybe that superset helped recovery.
Adjustments: 5×6 @ 105 for front squats, bump leg curls, and try to get a feel for how much weight to use for BSS for Phase IV.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a novel to write. And that whole food thing. I’ll eat, I promise.
i SO need to come and cook for you. all you eat is chilli! i see you have a few words down, good stuff! ps: your nanomail made me smile 🙂

ryn I only paraphrased the part about “live and breathe.” For me, if I live and breathe the character, I live and breathe the story as well. It’s all tied up in my brain, where girls will be boys and boys will be girls. ~

I am eternally impressed by your ability to make liberal use of creepy weight-lifting acronyms and jargon (little of which I have the energy to make sense of because this is the internet, damnit, and clicking over to the google tab is just.. well fuck you, man, you know?) and yet still keep the writing flowing enough to entertain and amuse my pedestrian’s mind. I hate you beacons of literary brilliance, you bastards!
