Quote/Fact of the Day for 10-22-6

Mom: “I’m making chili.”

Me: “Where’s the meat?”

Mom: “He doesn’t want meat in it, you know that.”

Me: “You know what you get when you GOTO Hard Times and order chili? Meat, and no vegetables at all in it!

Chili is meat. Vegetarian chili is an oxymoron.

I wonder if they’re jealous of the fact that my chili rules (and I eat it constantly), and theirs sucks. Not to mention my superior meatloaf. They made meatloaf last night. Oh god, it was horrible. They loved it – I thought it was too sour, too bitter, and too salty. Yuck.

I believe that the food you make is only as good as the independent ingredients. If you can’t eat it by itself, maybe you shouldn’t put it in food. I despise onions and peppers. I despise “tomato sauce” or “tomato paste”, or whatever they put in it. I love pink beans. I love chi-chi’s salsa. I love beef. Assuming a consistency of flavors (bananas don’t go well with flounder), you can’t screw up a dish if the independent ingredients rox0r.

Next week, I intend to try a chicken-based Mass Meal. We’ll see how that goes.

i am curious about your meatloaf recpie. i personally like onions and peppers. and tomato sauce. all of which end up in my mom’s meatloaf which i like. i have never heard of a meatloaf without these things.

Yet another person who hates peppers and onions! I knew there were subliminal reasons I like you. ~
