Parents are like children.

Came home after class, which ends sometime after 9 PM. I was intending to just down some cottage cheese and collapse for the evening. I noticed there was pizza out. Room temperature. They know I have class Tuesday night. Meaning the pizza has been sitting out for maybe 3 hours. Naturally, I inquired as to why it wasn’t in the fridge. That’s where you put pizza, no?

My dad’s face shrank, his voice raised, and he went into a “we leave you pizza and you complain!” tirade. I told him to calm down. I asked him if he heard me last week saying to leave it in the fridge. Nope, he didn’t hear me, so I rephrased.

“Hey, if you didn’t hear me, that’s fine, don’t worry about it.” I was putting the pizza in the little oven anyway.

See, there’s a funny reason for this. My dad doesn’t like cold pizza. So he passive-aggressively didn’t put the pizza in the fridge. I mean, seriously, three hours. You don’t leave pizza out for three hours. Me, I like cold pizza.

He calmed down, got the message, then later started complaining that I’d burn my pizza in the oven. *laughs* I tend to shove things in the oven and walk away without a timer. Very rare I burn anything, though. I just wanted to kick my shoes off, and change my socks. Pizza’s far from burned, I promise. ; )

thats any interesting one but since you mentioned it i think i agree hah, silly silly.

I’ve read all too well the virtues of regular urinating to ward off UTIs. Yeah, fortunately it’s not that. It’s just that her lips are red and chapped from not wiping after urinating on occasion and not wiping properly the rest of the time… Too cool that I got you! I figure it will be a rare thing when I will have a title that will attract your attention! 😉 Rose

If you like cold pizza, why’d you put it in the oven?

when I was in college pizza for breakfast which had sat out in a box all night was a regular occurrence. I don’t think pizza has the same potential to go bad as some other food left out would.

Ewww, room temperatue pizza. If he doesn’t like it cold, why doesn’t he just nuke it? Certainly lessens the probability of food germies. Adrian is the same way. He constantly leaves stuff out on the counter, but just because he forgot. And then eats it later and gets sick. *rolls eyes*

I regularly have similar conversations with my husband. Perhaps husbands are like children too… 😉
