Morning of 9-28-6

Don’t you hate when you study for an exam, only to realize you studied the wrong things? Sheesh.

Well, not entirely. Our A&P lab teacher starred some of the cells, saying we’d only have to know those ones. So I studied them. In reality, she was just referring to which ones she would possibly have us tested for visual recognition. As in, look in the microscope, tell her what it is. On the downside, I was caught off-guard by the cells I didn’t know. On the plus side, what I did know, I knew. And since it’s a stereotypical college multiple-choice test, if it’s not something you know, odds are it’s the one you don’t know. You know?

There was a massive matching section, having to do with parts of the body and relative location indicators (distal, superior, ventral, superficial, etc). I got most of them. Ha ha. I’ve known for years what perineal means. : D

As for the slides, three were bone, blood cells, and adipose. Those are gimmes, c`mon. Only one I wasn’t sure about was elastic cartidge. For a visual description, I always thought “cobblestone”. I didn’t think it was fibrocartidge, that looks more like a river.

I have no doubt I passed. What’s annoying is that I can recite the shape and locations of most of what I studied, yet that wasn’t really what the test was on! Motherfucker! Like I said, studied the wrong stuff. Simple Columnar cells line the digestive track – they have to be tall to handle shit. THERE ARE STRATIFIED COLUMNAR CELLS IN MY VERY MALE URETHRA.

The notecards were effective. Hopefully next time I’ll actually study the right shit. I think I have a lecture exam next week. Guess I’ll be making more notecards tomorrow. Or later today, if I feel up to it. My god, I had massive morning wood this morning. You know when you wake up, but it’s not time to get up, so you just keep rolling over, in and out of consciousness? Massive wood. But by the time my alarm went off, I was flaccid as a palm tree. It interrupted a dream where my Uncle Dave was having some sort of substance being dripped out of his brain, so my dad asked him, “How is your brain?”

You know that’s funny.

But really, I just wanted to post annotating that all the clocks in the other academic building are stopped at 7:00:04. Yes. Four seconds. Every last one.

I know! I once studied the wrong things for exam too. And they really were completely wrong. Glad to hear that you did well anyway 🙂

Glad you did well. ryn: I always weigh myself without clothes first thing in the morning, after I have used the bathroom.

RYN: Well, you’d win that bet. I can’t seem to find ANYONE on that damn site. I try searching through certain towns, but it always freezes up after the fifth result page or so. I did add a DIFFERENT friend named Timmy, though. 😉
