Must be the Klingon in me.

There’s far too much rhetoric in this country about freedom, and not enough about honor. Freedom propaganda has lead to a selfish society that’s only concerned with getting ahead, screwing over anybody in your path and not getting caught.

Maybe we should blame it on Star Trek, but I’ve always had a sense of honor. No, it’s not always perfect, but I can’t do things if I couldn’t live with myself in the morning. Honor isn’t about sucking everyone’s dick. It’s about how what you do to others, and to yourself, effects you. It’s not always a matter of morality.

Respect. I’m tired of punks thinking they’re better than other people because they’re less intelligent. No better than Republicans getting away with whatever they can. Have you no sense of honor?

It saddens me. Intelligence used for foul purpose. People voluntarily making decisions that disgrace themselves. I’m convinced some people just don’t have interior monologues, or if they do, it is sinister.

Nothing that hasn’t been said before. I just wonder how many people think of honor and dignity and loyalty and respect when they think of their friends. I’d rather have an honorable asshole as a friend, then a dishonorable upbeat friend.

This makes total sense to me.

I’m a big fan of honor and loyalty. Of course, I’m also a big fan of Star Trek. I’ve always felt more akin to the Vulcans than the Klingons though – well except for the whole part about only having sex every seven years.

i think a lot of people are given so much, they have no understanding of the word “searching”. they think anything their lives need comes from “receiving”. so they never find things that aren’t required for survival. like honor. honor is something you can only comprehend when you deserve it.

You rock! I agree with your last statement full on.

Isn’t honorable asshole an oxymoron? I would think if one is an asshole they wouldn’t exactly have honorable mastered. Rose

RYN: See, I don’t get along with girls because of all the drama. Girls are so catty for me. I relate with guys because I get to relax and be myself. It’s a good trade. You deal with girls, and I deal with guys. We’d get along 😉

RYN: She may not look like much but she’s got it where it counts.

My piano/choir teacher at school has a poster in his office that is much like the “Everything I need to know, I learned in Kindergarten” posters but is, instead, “Everything I need to know, I learned from Star Trek.”

Well Said, Tim!

ryn: Thanks for the note! I try to eat a lot of fiber anyways but you are right. I’m glad to report that I got rid of all my water weight yesterday.
