My twenty-rep squat effort will last through at least the end of June. Supposedly you’re not supposed to do it longer than six weeks. It could easily last the duration of this macrocycle, depending on how I feel. You have to do what you like.

I was having issues with the Vertical Push aspect. If I went with hang clean and press twice, I’d be getting a vertical push twice, and I’d run into recovery issues for my deltoids. I slam them so much as it is, ya know? I might as well go proportionally. And as much as I hate benching, it’s good to do now and then. So I put in regular DB Bench Presses. To conserve energy, I just took out the push motion from the second to make it just a hang clean. I’ll be able to jack up more weight that way.

I wanted to do deadlifting every workout, but be realistic, that’s suicide. With the weight I’ll be using eventually, my posterior chain will need more recovery.

Let’s see. Goals. Get my deadlift up where my romanian deadlift is. Form is paramount.

Get my clean form down. I don’t think that’ll be a huge problem. I’ll just start light. Yes. Just start light and go for reps to start.

I haven’t dealt with dumbbell benching since last year. Form is paramount, otherwise I’m just shooting dumbbells into air without purpose.

I hate pull-ups, because I’m short. As my weight increases (or maintains, whatever), I want to maintain or increase what I can do.

Notice I’ve taken out all abwork. I’ve finally reached a point where I realized I don’t need it at all. Core? Hello, nothing slams your core more than squats and deadlifts. My abs flex during pull-ups! *smiles* I’d rather spend time doing calf raises. If I ever lose bodyfat, maybe then I’ll do abs, as they’re only useful as an aesthetic muscle. *smiles* Okay, maybe I’ll do some on non-workout days, as they don’t require much of any energy.

I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to lunge which. It’s not paramount I max out the weight or anything. Alternating-leg lunges turn me off because you just stand in one spot. I figure walking lunges will be good for my flexibility. Plus holding dumbbells for a while serves as a farmer’s walk. So to speak.

If I feel taxed on the second day, I’ll take out the second chest-supported incline shrug.
