Human Illogic.
I had just finished a Health and Wellness test and was walking out of the building, past the weight room and cardio room. In front of me I see a girl from my class in sweats in front of a vending machine eating something chocolate covered and cream-filled. As she saw me coming, she said,
“Don’t even say it.”
I purposely mumbled incoherently at her, as I tend to do, to avoid saying “something”. Diet and exercise. Moderation. ..But goddamn, if you have the munchies, BE RESPONSIBLE ABOUT IT! She even saw the contradiction. She complete negated the entire point of working out! Have a banana! Yogurt! An apple! A goddamn cereal bar! A fat cock! Hell, have a pretzel!
Ahem.
..Just sharing. I have things to do.

I wouldn’t kill yourself about the fat. I mean, don’t slater, but don’t feel like you have to be fat-free either. Whey is a dairy protein. Body builders need a lot of protein to build muscle. Way more than the average 70-90grams that most people eat. You can get 20-30 grams of protein in one shake without all the sugar in instant breakfast. Add frozen fruit and maybe some honey or splenda.

Ideally you’ll be having protein with almost every snack. The only exception is your pre-workout snack, which can be mostly carbs to fuel your workout. Your post work-out snack should be mostly quality protein to rebuild the muscles. I know I sing the protein song, but ask any body-builder, and they’ll tell you the same thing. Also, if you’re bulking, you need more calories.

RYN: Well, if you have trouble gaining, don’t worry about the fat as much, except it may fill you up quicker and make it harder to get in enough protein. If you don’t want to stress about everything you eat, don’t. You might well get the results you want from minor tweaking.
